Fort Mcmurray is a boom town, just like most other boom towns it has its share of transients and people who don't give a shit, but, some people have made a good living here, good friends, raised families and they aren't all crack heads or whores. I have lived here for 7 years now and I am ready to leave, but I still wouldn't call this place a shit hole, as far as the price of housing, well, this has happened in most boom towns, just hope I get out in time. If not Scotia Bank is fucked!! LOL

Fort Mac looks like the armpit of the universe from what Ive seen. Who would want to live in a place that has winter 8 months of the year? I have not seen one bit of nice architecture or one nice home for that matter. I get a kick out of all these people that paid 600-700k for little shit houses. With $40 a barrel oil and a housing correction/crash I wonder what the value of these homes will be in 2 years?
