I call bullshit. What is the chemical analysis of oil which support the evidence that it is abiotic? None. If it's as he claims that it comes from recently decayed plankton then we should be able to dig a few hundred feet to find it not a few thousand.
@technatezin what chemical analysis do you have which states It's a fossil fuel? Fact remains that fossils don't exist as far down as we usually drill for oil.
@technatezin I'm a graduate and an engineer. Nothing I said was illogical. I guess you would like to endlessly sling insults at people you don't know over the internet, good luck with that!
Efficiency ratio = energy input / energy output, Can never be at 100%
Pretty basic engineering stuff isn't it?
Now, tell me why it's extremely unlikely that plankton or other biological micro organisms can produce oil or gas or any of the hydrocarbons we presently use that we dig thousands of feet into the deep DARK ground for.
@technatezin Both theories claim that oil is made up from living matter. Nobody suggested oil is purely from plankton and biological micro organisms. Nobody Suggested that these organisms suddenly generate a lot more energy once they become oil either.
The idea of abiotic oil theory is that living matter is changed by the extreme heat and pressure under the earth to form longer hydrocarbons - oil. There's nothing ridiculous about that.
@sebastionay "The idea of abiotic oil theory is that living matter is changed by the extreme heat and pressure under the earth to form longer hydrocarbons - oil."
*roll eyes* And, how do you suppose they got to the point deep underground where they are subjected to thousands of psi of heat and pressure to form hydrocarbons?
They, the micro organisms, got buried in rock after geological movements like tectonic plate shifts (earthquakes) millions of years ago.
His last two sentences pretty much sum it up "These things aren't accidental. There'S a dollar sign behind everything." I don't believe that this is even remotely controversial to the folks interested in such topics, nor even to the average person on the street who are not really even interested. So, the question is how to confront such powers and manipulations of the public most efficiently so that they may take whatever course necessary to bring down such horrendous scams.
@SASNIGHTCRAWLER So we agree on virtually everything then, except the self sustaining fuel cell thing. No perpetual motion machine has yet proved to work.
@SASNIGHTCRAWLER Sure. It took a hell of a lot of plankton over a hell of a lot of time to form the current oil reserves. But I am not sure that your knowledge of petroleum chemistry is enough for you to talk intelligently about the colour and texture that the product of this should have.
@SASNIGHTCRAWLER Quite often horizontal wells are drilled in order to tap reservoirs from an existing production platform. It is cheaper to drill extended wells than to install independent production units. Also, the reservoirs themselves are often extensive with poor permeability so the wells are drilled horizontally to tap them more effectively. The drill pipe itself represent a very small cost compared to other costs.

@GeorgeGreekTrucker It is absolutely correct that oil is not formed from decayed dinosaurs. Oil is said to be formed from micro organisms that dropped to the ocean floor.
I am curious if anyone can find an example of oil having been found at 30 000 feet vertical depth.
The fact that this guy does not understand the difference between Vertical Depth and Measured depth is a pretty good indication that he speaks rubbish. All those wells at about 30 000 ft are all horisontal.

@sebastionay I'm really sorry that you're a moron incapable of logical thought. Come back with a more reasonable reply after you complete college.

Oil and natural gas are abiotic of course.

@SASNIGHTCRAWLER Emission of frequency? I don't know what that means. I think you're a bit off topic.
