  • I can tell this movie is one of my favorites. I have seen it several times and I just love it. Some have said it´s inspirational and I´m agree; a difficult life to a nun that respects her holly rule to the edge of quit feeling failed to it. Personally it´s a sad end to me but a good one.

  • I'm glad someone here agrees. One of the best endings ever. I think the music has a lot to do with it.

  • Now, her and Dr. Peter Finch can get it on!

  • PS-- @mguilfordtx , on your recommendation I went on Amazon and looked up _The Spiral Staircase_. It looked good, so I ordered it, and should have it this week. For anyone else who's interested, they had numerous used copies for one cent each (!), plus $3.99 shipping.

  • @truth128 , you don't have a single clue what you're talking about. Have you ever talked to an ex-nun before? You're talking to one now, and I can tell you that NO one ever leaves lightly, in search of "casual life". It is a wrenching move, made for deep reasons of soul and integrity, and judgmental people like you just make it harder.

  • Thank you,great film.

  • This was truly fantastic, thanks for sharing.

  • To anyone judging this woman negatively for leaving the convent, I invite you to read "The Spiral Staircase" by Karen Armstrong.

  • I think she would have been very happy going back to the Congo to nurse, and to be free of the stiffling rigors or the convent and the man-made "Rule of the Order". She could be free to be herself to show all the love, care, sympathy and good example to all the natives. Plus, she and Dr. Fortunati most likely did love each other. He surely loved her. They probably could be very happy together. That's what I think she did after she left the motherhouse.

  • Where do you think she went? I hope it was back to the Congo and Dr. Fortunati.

  • This was a fantastic movie. But, what else could you expect from Audrey Hepburn? Audrey can play about any role, it seems. While this was one of her more serious roles, let's try not to think too far into it. This movie did give me more respect for nuns, though.

  • Gotta be one of the best endings in cinema history. Left me speechless. Simply brilliant and stunning. Punch to the gut!

  • This movie makes me silent of all of my desires and self pleasing ways. Living a life of sacrifice really does go against human nature, I am in great respect for women who do enter the convent, have stayed, and as well as come out of it. God knows His creation and the sin that have stained our true nature. Humans break promises, whether it be a nun's vows, or marriage vows, or anything of that sort, because we are imperfect. But God loves us unconditionally despite our failures.

  • Alot? Hmm. I don,t know about that but people like to talk about it alot. Don,t believe everything you read all the time. Bad things happen everywhere,no place is perfect.I,m disappointed that people insist on focusing on generalising nuns in a negative light. I have nothing but wonderful memories of them. Thank you Ursulines!

  • Alot of Lesbians and sexual abuse go on behind the scenes at the convents. Google. it.

  • @freefalln329 Oh give me a break! You don't know what you are talking about. Provide the site information.

  • She had such a sensitive & hesitant personality. That could never make a good nun,

Always being doubtful about herself and actions, that's not what God wants to see. we should always do our best to correct ourselves instead of feeling hopeless, giving up and leaving the convent.

  • @Truth128 Define a good nun

  • Too bad, she left the church for the sake of casual life. She's was perfectly obedient to the law, she was just going too hard and sensitive on herself as the priest said.

  • @Truth128 Give it a break is a damn movie.

  • The movie is ok, up until the end. In reality, if you want to become a nun you must be ABSOLUTELY sure you want to be a nun and stay a nun until death. It is shameful to take all those vows to stay a nun, and then decide not to be a nun and leave the convent. Like I said, shameful.

  • @28804ecorrell Jesus, God, man, how about a little CHARITY and less JUDGEMENT? People come and leave the priesthood and the convent all the time. That is NORMAL, believe it or not. She went about all the canonical procedures to get dismissal. If the Holy Mother church is OK with it, what is your problem?

  • can you help me to find website where i can watch breakfast at tiffany's movie of audrey hepburn...? tnx tnx tnx

  • Wow. What a movie, filled with surprises and tension.
