Going through a divorce right now, just laying in bed, every single word, this song just fits. "When she left I was cold inside...no regrets, no love, no tears, living on my own was the least of my fears..." Miss her like crazy.
@SUSPECT922 remind yourself how you won her, you are still the same person, you can do it again, life gives us so many women same as it gives women men, there is no such thing as a true love, only thing that makes that happen is two people dancing together staring into each others eyes, if you can hold it for more than 10 heartbeats then you're starting a party
@gargoperro2 claro, The Police fue el grupo que más inspiro a Soda Stereo así que no me extraña que algunos de sus temas tengan mucho parecido a temas de The Police.. igual los dos son temazos
My first favorite band, my first album I chose and bought myself, first CD I ever got. I guess you can say I'm a fan. This is my favorite song from them.
@pophangtime88 please don't mention colour, music has no barriers, you only make it worse by saying it grrrrr sting is a jazz musician it doesn't matter most jazz artists are black, it just matters the ones he liked are good :)
@pophangtime88 obviously it's patronising, what you said to me and what I'm saying to you :) i love it that people who grew up with reggae get Sting's bass lines but I also appreciate it's not real reggae so it's up to you to post authenticity ;)
Stu may have been the most technically astute musician in the band, but like most reggae songs, it is bass driven. This is my favorite Police song because itgetsAfrican music at its most captivating, spookiest, most zombified state. As a bass player, I understand that nobody else but Sting can lay this one down.
@ABlodg0290 "African" music means nothing. Africa is an enormous continent with a myriad (that means a lot) of musical styles. If you're trying to say that reggae is a modified form of western African, specifically Mali, syncopated rhythms, then maybe you have a point. But I HATE points! I prefer to groove with a righteous jam...
damn u r the most miserable pieces of shit I ever encountered on youtube. all of u that disagree with me with the childish name calling can go kill yourselves. hahahahaaaa!
@MsL0vie Can't understand your anger. The Police is one of the greatest bands ever, and this particular song is one of their best. If you are unable to appreciate their greatness, please go away. who ever said that that sheila one was better is so wrong, this has so much better rhythm and bass to it it's no comparison mate and this was done in 1979 n not 80/81 like that sheila one. Sorry.
This is an awesome song, if you dont think so, dont listen to it! Also do you realize that The Police probably turned tons of people on to reggae and in doing so helped your so called "real reggae" artists out?
bob marley wasn't raised in an upscale area. the ghetto. yes. reggae is ghetto music. how hard is that to understand? keep listening to this crap. u couldn't handle REAL reggae. like burning spear, gregory issac(-r.i.p, dennis brown,-so many to name. yea, stick to this fake ass watered down crap. I bet you have every album the group "jah works" put out. they're a joke. I saw them for $5. they SUCKED! 1/2 the ppl- the REAL reggae lovers walked out.
@MsL0vie You ELITISTE music journo, the rest of us just like music that makes the feet tap and want to dance, cut the crap, the bass playing in this is better than any jamaican band ever realized!!! And as for quoting King BOB, fcuk off, How about the real Jamaican talent long before Bob, like.............. TOOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! get back on ya silly trip of ignorance!!!!!!!!!!!!
@MsL0vie Define "ghetto" you DumbFuck. Ignorant people like yourself hijack words and twist them and turn them to suit their own prejudices. "Ghetto" DOES NOT mean "poor slum". Learn what the words you say actually mean. Trenchtown IS a ghetto, but by definition so is Beverly Hills. Words DO NOT mean what you want them to mean. Learn that at least, DumbFuck.
again I say. this version SUCKS. it's not even a race think that ppl try to make it to b why I don't are for this version. it sounds really bad. come on haters come at me with ur best hatred.
@unbelivableLP -yea bob marley was from trenchtown area of kingston. definitely the ghetto, u or the police wouldn't last a day there or any other ghetto so shut the bloodclad up.
@unbelivableLP -that was really a dumb comment. instuments don't have to be always bought. they can b on lay away, borrowed, a gift, or stolen. think b4 u type.
@MsL0vie lol that's ironic, look at what you said. Reggae does not come from the Ghetto. That can be offensive in many ways. It comes from a passionate musician. ''Think b4 u type''
@sistapoetry I don't thing they're that underrated, people were dying to see them get back together. I'm glad they finally made it happen. These are 3 of the best musicians on the planet.
