  • @mercurio320 Yes, you're right. I was wrong about the name of the song.

  • My favorite song of the POLICE....BY FAR. Loved the reggae sounds of their earlier albums. Turn this up real loud. Sounds awesome.

  • Going through a divorce right now, just laying in bed, every single word, this song just fits. "When she left I was cold inside...no regrets, no love, no tears, living on my own was the least of my fears..." Miss her like crazy.

  • @SUSPECT922 remind yourself how you won her, you are still the same person, you can do it again, life gives us so many women same as it gives women men, there is no such thing as a true love, only thing that makes that happen is two people dancing together staring into each others eyes, if you can hold it for more than 10 heartbeats then you're starting a party

  • Cuando pase el temblor!

  • @yocarajo69 También el modo de inciiar la cancion se parece a una de Mana... Pero obviamente estos fueron primero... ¿o no?...

    Investigaré...

  • @gargoperro2 claro, The Police fue el grupo que más inspiro a Soda Stereo así que no me extraña que algunos de sus temas tengan mucho parecido a temas de The Police.. igual los dos son temazos

  • dirtyho423 ..wasnt far off then.....

  • Steward is the man...

  • @forestgumpaed outlandos d'amour was first. this wasn't their debut album. but it's stil AMAZING.

  • The one and only...

  • Always my favourite track from the album. Owww!

  • My first favorite band, my first album I chose and bought myself, first CD I ever got. I guess you can say I'm a fan. This is my favorite song from them.

  • @corelliantrader007 perhaps the best colour bleu x

  • in this world there are two types of people - those who like listening to The Police, and those with no taste in music.

  • @bababoum I had to sign in to like your comment, totally agreeeeee

  • @bababoum YESSS!

  • Die bas, altijd fantastisch!

  • ima 22 year old black kid n i love the police ever since walking on the moon!!

  • @pophangtime88 please don't mention colour, music has no barriers, you only make it worse by saying it grrrrr sting is a jazz musician it doesn't matter most jazz artists are black, it just matters the ones he liked are good :)

  • @Campestral sooo true good music is good music! no matter what colour

  • @pophangtime88

I like your comment. Take care kiddo :)

  • @pophangtime88 obviously it's patronising, what you said to me and what I'm saying to you :) i love it that people who grew up with reggae get Sting's bass lines but I also appreciate it's not real reggae so it's up to you to post authenticity ;)

  • @pophangtime88 - Respec bwoy, peace out

  • @pophangtime88 you're not a kid and no one cares how old you are or what race you are.

  • @JDPGILKS i was just gonna say the same thing lol

  • 'Living on my own was the least of my fears ....but the bed's too big without you' ...

    Brilliantly put.

And I always loved his bass and the unique drum / percussion theme in this song. Great.

    Thanks for uploading :)

  • @jbodine67 i sent a message to you but forgot to put name in i do apologise thankyou for your reply junysawrus

  • my favourite police song

  • such a great song , well written greatly executed , as a bass player these lines are mesmerizing

  • Stu may have been the most technically astute musician in the band, but like most reggae songs, it is bass driven. This is my favorite Police song because itgetsAfrican music at its most captivating, spookiest, most zombified state. As a bass player, I understand that nobody else but Sting can lay this one down.

  • @ABlodg0290 "African" music means nothing. Africa is an enormous continent with a myriad (that means a lot) of musical styles. If you're trying to say that reggae is a modified form of western African, specifically Mali, syncopated rhythms, then maybe you have a point. But I HATE points! I prefer to groove with a righteous jam...

  • the drumming on this track is awsome

  • 4 people sleep in the valley of nowhere.

  • Cheers from Miami Beach!

  • Enjoy the music. Stop the arguments on Youtube.

  • bellissima...

  • thanku for your post i have loved them since they first came out again thanku you have cheered me up love juntsawrusx

  • ...goes great with a twisty...

  • She was chinese and beautiful...

  • copeland drives the whole song - Sting thinks he does, but it's our Stewie!

  • Got it,,,,, Ya Me Tooooooo!!!!!!!

  • i really love this thank god for my ears and hearing and the police brilliant toon junysawrus

  • @junysaerus great comment juny......

  • I got this turned up on my amp and i dont fucking care if i got moaning people next door!!

  • stewart copeland is the man!!!!!!!! simply one of the most greatest drummers of all the time!!!

  • damn u r the most miserable pieces of shit I ever encountered on youtube. all of u that disagree with me with the childish name calling can go kill yourselves. hahahahaaaa!

  • @MsL0vie Can't understand your anger. The Police is one of the greatest bands ever, and this particular song is one of their best. If you are unable to appreciate their greatness, please go away. If you want to attack something, there's plenty of real trouble in the world waiting for your wise solutions.

  • Between these guys and U2, I don't know who to pick as my faves. I know they both have totally diffrent sounds, but, I loved both bands. I still do. I can alwyas go back and listen too these timeless tunes. Your'e right!!! Listen too Stewart's drumming in this song. Incredible beat. A very underrated drummer. Thanks for posting this.

  • @lismclis51 lol

  • who ever said that that sheila one was better is so wrong, this has so much better rhythm and bass to it it's no comparison mate and this was done in 1979 n not 80/81 like that sheila one. Sorry.

  • great song!

  • CRAZY ass genuious drum line

  • This is an awesome song, if you dont think so, dont listen to it! Also do you realize that The Police probably turned tons of people on to reggae and in doing so helped your so called "real reggae" artists out?

  • Comment removed

  • @MsLOvie You may think this version sucks And you are entitled to your opinion but it's the original and was written by the police.

  • bob marley wasn't raised in an upscale area. the ghetto. yes. reggae is ghetto music. how hard is that to understand? keep listening to this crap. u couldn't handle REAL reggae. like burning spear, gregory issac(-r.i.p, dennis brown,-so many to name. yea, stick to this fake ass watered down crap. I bet you have every album the group "jah works" put out. they're a joke. I saw them for $5. they SUCKED! 1/2 the ppl- the REAL reggae lovers walked out.

  • @MsL0vie whats your problem man....go troll somewhere else...fucking fake reggae whangster

  • @MsL0vie You ELITISTE music journo, the rest of us just like music that makes the feet tap and want to dance, cut the crap, the bass playing in this is better than any jamaican band ever realized!!! And as for quoting King BOB, fcuk off, How about the real Jamaican talent long before Bob, like.............. TOOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! get back on ya silly trip of ignorance!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MsL0vie Define "ghetto" you DumbFuck. Ignorant people like yourself hijack words and twist them and turn them to suit their own prejudices. "Ghetto" DOES NOT mean "poor slum". Learn what the words you say actually mean. Trenchtown IS a ghetto, but by definition so is Beverly Hills. Words DO NOT mean what you want them to mean. Learn that at least, DumbFuck.

  • @strangelyjamesly

please explain to me and everyone else how Beverly Hills is a ghetto lol

  • again I say. this version SUCKS. it's not even a race think that ppl try to make it to b why I don't are for this version. it sounds really bad. come on haters come at me with ur best hatred.

  • REAL REGGAE comes from the Ghetto.

  • @MsL0vie Real reggea comes from the ghetto? Can they even afford Drum kits, guitars and other musical instruments? No. Gtfo

  • @unbelivableLP -yea bob marley was from trenchtown area of kingston. definitely the ghetto, u or the police wouldn't last a day there or any other ghetto so shut the bloodclad up.

  • @unbelivableLP -that was really a dumb comment. instuments don't have to be always bought. they can b on lay away, borrowed, a gift, or stolen. think b4 u type.

  • @MsL0vie lol that's ironic, look at what you said. Reggae does not come from the Ghetto. That can be offensive in many ways. It comes from a passionate musician. ''Think b4 u type''

    Or stolen? Sad

  • & again. this version is horrible. shela hylton's version is MUCH better.

  • Just a perfect, perfect record. hauntingly beautiful. The cops were never better than this.

  • 2am and two hundred miles to go, this is the cd to put on. and pray there are no cops around!

  • Hmmm, only good song they ever did..great drumming as usual...

  • Dreaming dreams about what used to be ...It makes me cry ;).Those lyrics are so beautiful

  • The most underrated band alive...I love them

  • @sistapoetry I don't thing they're that underrated, people were dying to see them get back together. I'm glad they finally made it happen. These are 3 of the best musicians on the planet.

  • they plundered reggae and dub and created this brilliant song gotta love the police

  • Pure genius, lovely rhythm

  • great beat and even better bass riff.

  • @geektoro NO DOUBT..

  • @UBZUKI no doubt...

  • @UBZUKI no doubt...

  • Best pure Reggae song they ever did. Luann, if by some wild coincidence you ever hit this vid, I couldn't think of a better way to describe how I am since.

  • 4 people sleep in single beds?

  • agreed, Copeland is incredible with this beat

  • Just enjoy....too much analysis

  • sorry crosswalkernie

but the police version is much better than Foals there lead singers voice is tooo weak the polices version is as good as it gets

  • I did some research, & the police has the original version. sorry, I don't like it.

  • @MsL0vie Then fuck your dumb ghetto ass.

  • @wayupinya1 the 1st racist to cuss me out. wow. thank you & fuck u. that's rite REAL reggae not this crap came staight from the ghetto. u racist piece of shit dork. go 2 hell.

  • @MsL0vie Don't like it? Then leave MY country, you ghetto foodstamping piece of welfare trash.

  • @wayupinya1 -ur country? u don't even have a job how do you have ur own country now. if I were to leave u couldn't afford my plane ticket I'll tell u that. ur an angry piece of racist shit & u need prayer. if you're that miserable, kill yourself. u don't have anything to live for anyway. & I don't live in the ghetto. if I did-so what?

  • @MsL0vie Such bitterness. Is your welfare check late again?

  • @wayupinya1 - I'm black. they won't give me welfare. only whites & mexicans get it where I am.

  • It has a Jamaican rocksteady beat into it.

  • I'm a taxi driver. When I play The Police CD in the car all passengers, young or old,

60 or 50 or 40 or 30 or 20 say "Hey! Turn that up please, I love the Police" ...

Copeland is just awesome on this beat.

  • @notrut I don't know many records you can listen to front to back and enjoy every track. Police are tough to beat.

  • This song is beautiful ! <3 <3 <3 !

  • i don't get it...

  • Love this song! And this version! I used to play it but still not sure how he fingers(frets) on that dittle, dittle between chords?

  • @MsL0vie Its The Police and you can't like The Police if you dislike 1 of their songs. Those are the rules.

  • @eddiemc47 I'm not positive, which is the original, but i like sheila hylton's version better.

  • long time since i heard this one,and yes i can relate to it 2,need to listen to more of police forgot how good they are,

  • long time since i heard this one,and yes i can relate to it 2,

  • Just mucho respect for these 3 guys that got together to give us such a clean and defined album...as their 2nd - one of the best...
