  • i am definitely trying this for thanksgiving. we usually pick which pie each kid is going to make. im making this one and bringing it with me. lol.

  • Tammy, it looks and sounds Yummy! I don't drink alcohol, but I love it in baked goods and fudge, and the alcohol usually evaporates in the cooking. It's Just the right amount for the taste to be wonderful.

Thanks for the video. I just have to try it...........Angie

  • This looks sooo good!! I just got back from Gatlinburg, TN and I had some "southern" Pecan Pie that was so sweet it could put you in a diabetic coma! However, it was excellent! But after 2 bites I couldn't eat anymore. Just wondering if this was really sweet??

  • Sounds yummy!

  • OMG! The alcohol burns off in the cooking! No one is getting any effect from the alcohol even if she put the whole bottle in.

  • My mom is allergic to eggs...is there anything that I can use instead?

  • I am on this like white on rice. Thanks for doing it :)))

  • tammy! I don't like alcohol or chocolate or eggs or pecans or pie. Can I still make this without any of those things???

(ok I reached my cynical comment quota for the year. I couldnt resist)

  • Thanks for sharing this recipe

  • Tammy we make this every thanksgiving without the Jack and everybody loves my "chocolate pecan pie". I didn't know that you could add bourbon and "jack" it up lol. They'll be in for a big surprise treat this year. Those Tennessee folks are like the Kentucky cooks, they put bourbon in almost everything lol Thanks!

    Jo

  • uhmm im allergic to nuts. can i just use chocolate chips?

  • ..jack daniels...EPIC MEAL TIME

  • I used to live down the street from the loveless. It was a cool place. I miss the biscuit lady! RIP biscuit lady

  • WELCOME BACK! I missed you. I had nothing else to do without your videos. :(

  • pecans are evil 0.o

  • Welcome back! U were missed :)

  • This looks delicious. Welcome back.

  • THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR POSTING YOYOMAX!!!

  • Well girl... all I can say is Whoa! That looks good! Hugs!

  • That looks so delicious and rich! The alcohol cooks out, so no worries, as many have pointed out. Some folks seem to need to hear that at least one more time, eh?

    Thanks for posting!

  • oh brother, the questions about alcohol. peeeeeooople alc cooks off. ugh. it just seems like if you are so worried and opinionated about alcohol, you would know that heat cooks off alcohol.

in other news - this pie looks yummmmyyyyy! i am allergic to pecans, but would try this with walnuts! yums. :)

  • is this safe 4 12 year olds?

  • Beautiful!

  • The actual alcohol evaporates when cooked you are then only left with the taste! I think it's pretty rude of some people to makes comments like "you let you're kid drink whiskey?!" seriously if you actually read a cookbook you'd know simple things like this Jeez already!

  • Hm. Doesn't the alcohol cook out?

  • oh man that looks so good i think i gained a pound just watching this video :D

  • Welcome back Yoyomax's chefs! I'm just thinking-Is Max 18 or older to drink alcohol yet?...I'm taking the alcohol out for sure!

  • @AnimeSisterForever There is 2 tablespoons in an entire pie that serves 6-8 people. That wouldn't hurt anybody no matter how old they are. Max loved it.

  • @yoyomax12 Glad to hear it :)!

  • @yoyomax12 is max your son?

  • @yoyomax12 Its probably better that you give him some when her younger as if you don't he'll wanna try it all at once when hes 18 lol

  • @AnimeSisterForever its 2 Tbsp! Plus it is cooked so the alcohol is burned off!

  • @AnimeSisterForever All of the alcohol cookes out, you could feed it to a 2 year old lmfao it wont matter how old they are~

  • @AnimeSisterForever - Alcohol evaporates at 172°F (78°C), so you wouldn't need to worry about the pie having any intoxicating effects if you included the whisky...

  • @AnimeSisterForever I think that's really stupid how parents can be so up tight about putting alcohol in a recipe. I mean, come on.

  • @jackiexgrace agree agree agree ! a whole 2 tablespoons ( if ur tablespoons are 20 ml each ) (40 mls ) in a pie cut into 16th is a very miniscule amount of alcohol that has been cooked anyway ummmm that would be 1/16th of 40 mls so that would be 2.5 mls which is 1/2 teaspoon ~ if u have 15ml tablspoons then that would be 1/16 of 30 mls thats umm calculator lol lol 1.8 mls which is not very much lol : ) if 55% alcohol content is burnt off ~ UGHH ~ a crazy little amount

  • @AnimeSisterForever

I'm sure someone has already said it - but in the interest of making sure, I'll tell you too.

Alcohol, when baked emparts it's flavour, but the cooking process causes the alcohol to evaporate.

With this amount of alcohol, is miniscule anyways. But after baking? It's be non-existant.

(Now if there was a whole bottle of sherry in something, then you *might* have to worry, because larger volumes of alcohol mean longer cook times prior to full evaporation)

  • I MISSED YOUR VIDS! glad your back!

  • Looks great Tammy!

  • Yummmmmmmmy!!!!!

  • Welcome Home! We missed you! And I'm stealing this again.......

  • @Iheartdancinballet Only for dessert and occasionally with breakfast if he asks nicely (and for lunch on the third Sunday of each month)

  • @yoyomax12 Lol! This is the best comment ever! I love you even more now :)

  • ooooo i would love to try this but has anyone made this without the pecans...maybe sub a different nut??? im not a fan of pecans...any suggestions?

  • @PinkGlitteryStars You could sub walnuts easily and it would still taste very good

  • @PinkGlitteryStars You could also use macadamia nuts. MMMMMMM

  • It is easy to get those tiny "airline" whiskey bottles. I think they come in 'Jack'. It looks really good Tammy. - roc

  • Ymm, you are the best... you are the Winner :)

That looks and I can imagine tastes so awesome ... just like you!
