This scene really seemed to be missing something. Like, blood or other entrails spilling out of Greta while Freddy was stabbing her would have really improved things. And the following take on Freddy "burping" Greta seemed entirely unnecessary to me.
Come to think of it, Freddy's appearence and the start of his attack on Greta seemed to be a little rushed as well, no building up or suspense. Freddy offers a single one-liner and gets down to things, so unlike him in other movies like 3 and 4.
see what i want to know is where the original deaths in the remake? dreams for that matter.. the only "dreamy" sequence that film had was when nancy ran down a hallway that disolved to blood.. which happened in part 3! this is an original kill!! girl likes dolls, freddy feeds her a doll of herself and chokes.. creepy/perfect!! yet the new one has none of that shit which is why i hate the fucking Bay productions remaking everything just for a quick buck!!

its weird to see that New Line Cinema hasn't yet released an uncut dvd version of this with all the digital resotration posiblities, they said back then in 1999 when the first freddy boxset was released that these scenes where in bad shape so they only got the theatrical print on dvd, but my bloody valentine was released uncut with the gore scenes added so if u ask me i dont give a damn if the video suffers form decoloration or is not as sharp, just give us the full uncut version New Line!!!

I truely didn't like this one as much as the others. Here's my personal break down of the movies: 1 was awesome, 2 was pretty good, 3 was awesome (almost as good as the first one), 4 was alright but not really scary, 5 was more of a comedy, 6 was more of a comedy, New Nightmare was pretty good too.

this reminds me of the ep of freddy's nightmares where a baby sitter gets all hungry and then eatsup the whole kitchen then turns into this monster eating up the dog's food too, ugh...
I think this is what inspired that episode, the episode where the guy is an illustartor and draws that monster and it comes to life was inspired by Mark in this movie.
When I first saw this movie I thought Alice would die and Greta would take over as hero or the Dream Master. It seems like it was leading you up to think that at the graduation. It was focusing on Greta *and her mother* so much. You could tell there was a lot of conflict between Greta and her mom, and her mom was such a strong, overbearing character, but their characters were just dropped halfway through the movie and there was real potential for an underlaying story there I thought.
Man this movie and all 80's slasher ficks are way better than today's movies. Don't get me wrong today's movies are great with its computer graphics but that's just it, too much computer graphics if you ask me...anyways back to this death scene just love the part when Fred said,

Ok here's a bit of trivia, I see an odvious similarity with this with death scene to a death scene in part 4. Can any one answer? A character in part 4 was sitting at the table, after a friend got killed and was wanting to moarn the friend's death and did not feel like eating and this person's over bearing mother was pressuring her to eat.

When I first saw this movie I thought Alice would die and Greta would take over as hero or the Dream Master. It seems like it was leading you up to think that at the graduation. It was focusing on Greta *and her mother* so much. You could tell there was a lot of conflict between Greta and her mom, and her mom was such a strong, overbearing character, but their characters were just dropped halfway through the movie and there was real potential for an underlaying story there I thought.

Man this movie and all 80's slasher ficks are way better than today's movies. Don't get me wrong today's movies are great with its computer graphics but that's just it, too much computer graphics if you ask me...anyways back to this death scene just love the part when Fred said,
"Madam if I may, bon appetit BITCH!"

I agree, I get tired of the CGI, back then people actually put effort into making effects and as a result they look more real IMO.
I made an awsome Greta costume one Halloween that actually made people feel sickened to look at, I hope I can post it sometime.

Right on all counts. Even without CGI, the effects in this film were great and scary.
Oh, and I like that line, too, especially the way he deliberately drops the French accent when he says "BITCH."

Ok here's a bit of trivia, I see an odvious similarity with this with death scene to a death scene in part 4. Can any one answer? A character in part 4 was sitting at the table, after a friend got killed and was wanting to moarn the friend's death and did not feel like eating and this person's over bearing mother was pressuring her to eat.
