  • great video.. its the same way for me, the comic art really gets me, the storylines too. i love sliver and bronze age..

  • How cool is this guy?!!!!! Thumbs up man!

  • Excellent heartfelt video! Your sincerity really shines through! Continued success in this wonderful hobby of our's! :-)

  • @LegalSynergy Thank you and thanks for watching. Always good to here from other comic book collectors

  • @poetskinny i'm a 30 yr old collector...age has nothing to do with it...its just like any other interest or hobby...keep collecting....good video man

  • @poetskinny also forgot to add that i collect for the same reasons as you do....for the art...and history....the books don't have any financial meaning to me

  • Hey Poetskinny, comics are very addictive!! I have been collecting for awhile myself now. I bought my first book when I was 7 years old at a 7-11 in Alexandria, VA! Loved 'em ever since. Too bad I didn't know what was going to be popular back then and that I should had saved my money to buy that Fantastic Four #1, Amazing Fantasy #15 or Amazing Spiderman #1 for $100!! LOL Keep up the enthusiasm and don't worry about what others think. If it makes you happy, it has to be right!!

  • @robodog66 Thanks man. Yeah if only we could go back and time and pick up some of those issues from the past, we wouldn't have to work anymore now lol.

  • My friend when you said "Escaping from Reality " you hit the nail in the head for me. All i have to do is see a certain comic book or even just get a whiff of that old comic book smell and i am transported back to a simpler, happier time and place. I used to work in the Oil Patch as well way back in the day. Great Video

  • @CapesandCloaks Thanks a lot man...yeah sometimes you gotta go back to those simpler, happier time for a little bit and forget about the 'real' world.

  • Nice vid man :) You collect for the same reason that I do. The Kirby Silver-age cover art is the best.

  • i enjoyed this, did a vid like this near the beginning of last year and got alot of responses i will be adding this to that pile and i will sub on the idea that you will be another great addition to youtubes comic community :)

  • @SlyCooper88 Thanks a lot man. Yeah I'm really liking being a part of the Youtube comic community and learning from and interacting with everyone else. I'm going to go and check out your video now...

  • Very heartfelt vid! Comics are a great hobby. The more I learn about the history, the more fascinating I find it.

  • @edward2962 I definitely agree. Thanks for watching.

  • I am almost finished with my comic catalog. I would like to send you a copy. Alot of 1.00 comics. Its my personal collection.

  • Comic books are a sweet addiction with many different aspects for collectors to enjoy but they are basically as you suggest "an escapist media". Everyone can have their own favorite reasons for enjoying the hobby ( mine being nostalgia ) but most important, like you say, it makes us happy!

  • Great video, and those are the same reasons I collect.

  • I agree about the covers, each one is a work of art, I have bought certain comics solely for the cover! I also love the historical aspect of wondering how many owners, how many kids enjoyed the books we have in our collections. I love the 'boyscout' heroes, Superman, Cap etc...the guys who beat the heck outta the bad guys and then give em a ride home on their bike lol. ComicVine is a site you may like, every comic book cover and variant etc...WOO HOO!!!!!! glad yer a part of our community bro!

  • @koestenbraumstar Thanks for watching and for this and all the other great comments. I will definitely have to check out ComicVine. And I'm glad to have found a community like this one to be a part of.

  • Cool vid. Glad to see you in the community. I collect comic books for all the same reasons: investment; artistic value; and most critically the stories.

  • nice story
