Thanks for sharing this wonderful series of clips on You Tube, it's a real delight to watch the 2-8-0 going about it's business with little or no fuss and the scenery is delightful with good camera work ans shooting positions. I particularly liked the shot of the loco and train coming through the "snow" cutting, great stuff. I take the Strasburg Railroad is privately owned? Thanks. Ken
This is as close as one can get to the old Virginia Creeper mixed train.
Link had the number board the bell and the Head light. but Engineer Nick had the whistle, it was made for him in blfd shop by mr richardson, when engineer Nick got old and before Nick died he gave that whistle to Lee Alley. Now that sure as hell sounds like Lee's old whistle.
@KingofTomedy That was a custom made whistle that was previously owned by an Engineer Nichols, who ran the 382 frequently back in the '50s. I believe the current owner drove up from Tennessee and had it put on the locomotive.
Dang, was hoping you'd throw in that shot from inside the depot. Oh well, fantastic video nonetheless. That was a great day, despite losing my tape and almost freezing me feet stiff.

Leave it to Lerro Productions to do a job well done. This was a hellish storm we had to deal with. But glad to see someone took advantage of it!

Joe, you are an artist with the camera. Enjoyed seeing the old freight cars in service, especially the fishbelly.

When was this?

I like how they set up a half freight and half passenger train. It kinda makes it look unique.

Was the whistle changed too? It sounds like a Pennsylvania Railroad 3-chime whistle, and not a Norfolk & Western single chime.
