I got really lucky and got it on my 10th try or something. The day before I recorded this vid I wanted to do a test run of this chamber, and I wasted a good 20 mins on this :D. Luckily it went very well on recording. Chamber 18 is gonna have to wait a while I think... I'm having 8 portals in mind. Nothing too special.

Companion cube, that's what it's called! I knew that, but I couldn't remember it. Now you deflected 2 of those fireballs and they led you to a new path correct? And also, dropping the companion cube in that vat opened up the elevator? Anyways, awesome job as always! Now that is the optimal path ;)

This cube has a heart on it, hence it being a companion cube, all other cubes are normal ones. Yep, deflecting orbs... The second deflection is just getting lucky, really. At the end you have to 'euthanise' your cube, since it cannot accompany you any further. Why? Thing start to get weird when you're nearing the end of the game ;-). Optimal indeed! And completely legit.
