  • Shoulder walking contest next episode. haha

  • Thanks for this video. I been catching people with the triangle (due to my long skinny legs), but is unable to finish. Hopefully, I can apply the tip(s) from this video to my technique next time I roll.

  • "dont use this one on us" haha

  • thats my next triangle well and truely on

  • nice

  • haha the guy in the backround is getting triangled while theyre talking about triangles

  • 4:30 people R people hihi ^^

    thanx 4 todays smile ;)

  • Subscribed! Thanks brutha.

  • 'People aren't machines, people are people.' LOL

    <3 Rener

  • GJJ can help in a streetfight with mulitple attackers by preventing yourself from getting takendown, and knowing proper standup techniques INCASE you get taken to the ground as well.

  • Chael Sonnen dislikes this video

  • people are people! haha. nice

  • awesome ........!!!!

  • Good stuff as usual, guys.

  • you guys are great for showing your techniques thanx

  • No wonder they let Renner do these videos. The guy is a better speaker than most people trained to be public speakers. I heard MAYBE one or two ummmms or ahhhhhhs in there. Superb instructor.

  • '..people are people.' haha Rener could be the next Yogi Berra..

  • Im fed up hearing about how BJJ is no use for the street and how its only good for 1 opponent. Show me a practical art that is any good against more than 1 guy. Not 1. What, Judo? or Boxing , Maybe Kickboxing....EVEN THAI.. What am I going to do a Bas Rutten splits kick and punch forward and back at the same time against 4 guys. Get real, if any of you have been in or seen real fights then you will know how practical BJJ is. No unarmed martial art is good against multiple attackers.

  • @massivojohnson Krav Maga.......

  • Comment removed

  • @phys1c KRAV M .............. Behave yourself. Seriously. Behave yourself.

  • @massivojohnson Actually there are several martial arts that train specifically for multiple opponents, such as krav maga and kajukenbo. They do have armed elements to them, but they also have a very strong focus on unarmed combat versus several armed attackers.

  • @lagalagallama :

Seriously. You are deluded to think that you can fight more than one dude at a time. Perhaps if it is a total drunkard. Or a slapping teenager. But in truth a grown man attacking you with all his strength and agression. ... Nah. Ive been in those situations and believe me... No art in the world can prepare you for a multiple attack situation. All you have is (basically) right handers to each one as they come in. If you miss... forget it.

  • I love the way he teaches but most people pasture up not drive forward

  • @1lostinspace In the academy maybe, but in the street most guys try to smash forward. They don't know about posturing.

  • @SCROGY

well been that I have had the pleasure of been in one too many street fights, what they try and do is stand up! And yes you hook the leg but then you are fighting 2,3 people so I don't triangle but kick away and stand

  • Hell of a good bjj teacher.

  • rener is the coolist gracie to date. i would like to train with em,but evan more i just wanna hang out

  • your dreams are shatterd just like your neck

  • Thicknecked I agree with you, BJJ is for fun and IF you need, you can use it for personal defense, however fighting in the streets is too dungerous! There is no guarantees...

Jiu Jitsu Brasileiro, apenas para diversão!

  • i hate being stacked !!!! this is awesome..

  • Sweet! I walked it out yesterday In class...

  • Be happy to meet you at your training gym in SoCal, BD. I can tell you're a dicksucker? That you would choke me out "just for saying something that stupid" gives it away. You're a punk. Because I respect your mother, hopefully you won't get yourself killed blathering how tuff you think you are to the wrong dude. Lot of guys really are annoyed with bjj braggers. You got issues dude. Spend some time in the joint fish, see some killin, see how the real bad boys get her done. bjj4fun

  • Yeah, talk to the hand dipwad. NCAA wrestler. Purple belt awarded by Royce after winning heavy weight class at Ricksons' UCLA tournament. You are what I call a nuthugger. You are so blinded by your infatuation that you've lost all sense of reality. BirdDawg, how about puppylovedawg, eh there killer. lol I bet you prance around in your gi before getting in your car to train..so the neighbors can "admire" you. Spend more time choking your chicken bubba, no one cares u can arm bar.

  • why is it that all these punks that have NO training talk $h!t. this guy says "grabs handful of testicles". git your head out your ass, if you go to grab may balls i would put in an arm lock so fast and i wouldn't stop when you tap cuz its the STREETS. Go to ANY BJJ training facility and try you method of fighting and see how fast you git your ass kicked

  • Worse motor mouth than Rorian.. bla bla, bla.."guarantees success?" In a street fight there are no guarantees. The "bad" guy grabs handful of testicles and squeezes/pulls while his associate stabs you in the neck. Keep it real dudes..gj is for fun and exercise on a nice mat with kind training partners, Wind up on your back in the real world and you'll be stomped.

  • ok what makes you think a gjj practicioner cant play dirty either? and unless your in a place you shouldnt be or a situation you shouldnt be or u live in the ghetto your not going to get stabbed or jumped by multiple attackers.

  • you honestly cant be serious. you have no knowledge of any REAL fighting. i can GUARANTEE you fight a REAL Jiu-Jitsu you would git REALLY REALLY hurt. dont judge something you know nothing about. In the Real world i would choke your ass out just for saying something that fucking stupid

  • these guys 'walk the talk' lol!

  • I wish i watched this video before the other triangle one, got folded and now have a sore neck lol.

  • gracie spirit is inmortal

  • Haha "even my head joins the party". Great stuff. These guys are awesome.

  • @mbraceros thank u guys for sharing these great techniques

  • i think these videos are awesome, and yall are great teachers

  • so just curious, what happens when you run into a wall and can't shoulder walk any more or you start out up against a wall? then what do you do if he tries to stak u? not trying to be stupid, just curious.

  • there are many other options if the triangle fails :)

    omo plata, armbar..etc.

  • Thanks, I guess I just wasn't thinking last night. I'll keep training for my blue belt. lol I gotta start somewhere. I bought the combatives dvds and am on lesson 10 now, the triangle. When I am on a lesson I always do as much research about it as I can also through any other Gracie videos(Gracie only) online and take notes.

  • That has happened to me before. Just put your hand on the wall and spin your body in a different direction and keep on shoulder walking lol

  • First off,If you are being attacked By Multiple people,Your screwed, screwed!. Run away,Have you ever taken a good Punch to the Face? It makes you reconsider things,So dont talk to me about Multiple attackers,Because That is a Mythe,More than 1,Use a gun,or Run. Theres the best Phylosophie for you. Next is "Oh but while your going for a Kimura,There buddy will Punt your head" Guess what? If they wanted to stab me or Kick me,they would do it from the start!,Not when it hits the ground.BJJ FTW

  • I concur. So many people are still caught up in the whole "multiple attacker" fallacy that they live in delusions of the din mak and other one hit death strikes. The fact is if three, four, five, shoot even two guys want to jack you you're in trouble no matter what "din mak" you know.

  • Just remember: if you don't address the problem your dreams will be shattered

  • Great advice. Great video.

  • Well...I can say that BJJ would work in a street fight...but only a 1 on 1 and the right conditions. In a normal fight, there are multiple people, or it's on concrete or something similar, in which case you prolly wouldn't want to go for throws/ground fighting...solutions??? Train BJJ AND Muy Thai! :P But These guys still rock no matter what, & chokin people is serious business by the way!

  • well ill just stay with actualy being able to defend myself .... all this bjj works "but never used" is making me a little tired

  • Trust me BJJ works in street fights. Quick Standing kimura on the first guy after you rip his shoulder out you judo throw the next guy on his dome, then knock the last guy out with your fist when your mounted on him...It works.

  • lol only a moron would apply a triangle in a street fight... can you say stabbed and kicked by his friends .. i wish they would just go ahead and say bjj is for ring only

  • of course if your in a huge bar fight.your not going to do things like this but no fighting technique is full proof one one though bjj is perfect.you can get stabbed throwing punches you can get jumped their friends do any fighting technique by i guess your one of those guys like on the movies that knock 12 people out in 12 punches

  • 1. Yes. All fights happen on concrete with broken glass all over it. All people walk around with 5 man gangs to back them up. BJJ does not, and never has had, any practical applicaiton in the street. (It case your dumb ass missed it, that's sarcasm.)

    2. BJJ is not just the guard. It includes throws, take down defense and escapes....all things that are invaluable in a street fight.

Simply put, there is not perfect martial art for street fights against multiple opponents.

  • lol dont get your panties in a bunch ... i commented on this video simply because the gracie stated that "use this in a street fight" i tell you what you better be a gracie to pull of a triangle in a street fight and not die.. no there is no perfect "art" for the street but muay thai or boxing and a dead sprint will serve you better oh and for your info im a 24 year practitioner of ju-jit-su it took me 50 or so street fights to know to hit that sucker hard and get the hell out of there!

  • 24 years under who?

  • i still fail to find a MA better for when u end up on your back...

  • ill get hated on for this one but here i go .. first off a bjj guy always says "90percent" of fights end up on the ground what they dont say is 75 percent of fights on the street are multiple attackers invision this you have your legs around a dudes neck and he bits your leg open or worst then his buddies stomp in your head then hide your body... when a simple scramble to your feet and run would have saved your life bjj is great for the ring its proven but in the street its bad mojo

  • if someone bites you while you're doing a triangle, you've never trained the move in your life. fyi.

  • Well, all i gotta say is, if the dude can knock your ass out, can't be knocked out by your boxing/muay thai, and can outrun you anyday, knowing how to choke his ass out, breakin a limb, or surviving on the bottom is invaluable.

  • where does royce teach?

  • Gracie Insider - meus parabens! O refino tecnico de vcs e sua didatica são excepcionais. Detalhes importantissimos.

  • awesome vid...thx for posting

  • My dreams have been shattered quite a few times by people stacking on me :( Thanks for the video, Rener and Ralek! I'll use this in class today and let you know how it goes!

    z

  • so did you shatter anyone's dream yet?

  • rener gracie is a coll nice dude

  • you hopes and dreams shattered

    lol

    he is a funny guy

    my instructor just swears

  • my head joins the party lol

  • 5 4 upload!! :)

  • I really like this technique, I find Jiu-Jitsu to be very interesting. If there was a school near by, I would join, but these videos are really really detailed that it is easy to learn. Thank you very much for posting this video!!

  • rest in peace Helio Gracie, you are the man...

  • I love this guy and totally respect him, but I love the way he talks even more haha.

"My HEAD even gets involved - my head joins the party"

    "Your dreams will be shattered!"

"*trying to make an analogy to being trapped under a mountain or a car or something*"

    hahaha

  • shoulder walking is a good way to avoid punches from an opponent inside your guard

  • And this is why I always lose my triangle.. durrr.

    Thanks for the tip.

  • Remember though that you must maintain the triangle setup while you shoulder walk, if you rush to slap the calf over the back of his neck, he could stack you.

That push with the legs, then pull to get the arm over works incredibly well. Don''t rush to try to get that arm over, just maintain and the opportunity will present itself.

  • @Xaymot Yeah man, it's incredible how ONE slight detail, a little more pressure can make all the difference.

  • a very convincing technique. but i know how to escape the traingle without stacking. you just sit sideways.

Watch "Mark Hatmaker" escape from teh traingle

  • With the legs being tight and the two hands like that, it's very hard to just sit sideways

  • Very cool. Thank you. Does this move have other applications?

  • yeah. like preventing from your mom getting raped ..lol

  • I don't think so but being able to maintain the triangle puts you in a very dominant position. Probably the most dominant bottom position imo

  • wow ralek is back! i trained with him about nine months ago and last i had heard ralek and his father were having some issues

  • Nice!

  • "Your dreams will be shattered" haha

  • All your dreams are belong to me!

Seriously though, I love these videos. Awseome series and great instruction.

Keep up the great work guys!

  • Very useful.

  • What if they stand up and try to stack you?

  • So long as his posture wasn't perfect before you put your legs over him, he won't be able to stand up. Notice how Ralek's posture when in Rener's triangle set-up is him being slight leaned forward with his hands on the floor.

From there Rener keeps his legs tight hugging Ralek to him so Ralek has no hope of standing up (leg's leverage very strong). Ralek posting his legs up would only lean him forward and he can't posture up because Rener traps his arm with the tricep brace.
