it was nice especially for "freestyle". i think it could have been loads better if you had relaxed your upper body/neck/head. the video quality and lighting isnt great so i really cant see if you did this or not but i wish you would have used your head more to help emphasize the movement of the rest of your body. i'd like to see you do it again and loosen up.

sorry, but no improv involved here. If anything, this piece is very intricately choreographed, with many many hours of rehearsal to her to assimilate the positions and speed of transitions.

@bboross Might be a bit misleading to have called it 'freestyle' then as 'freestyle' means improvised in both layman's terms and for dancers (doesn't it?? At least it does amongst all dance groups I've ever mixed with)

"freestyle" has been used too interchangeably with "improvisation" in recent years, especially with a large amount of self taught and/or street dancers emerging everyday. The "Freestyle" referred in this context should be read as "without any style restrictions while choreographing" in layman terms. Technically speaking, please see the post below for correct usage in a more "formal" dance terms. ^_~ Peace!

"Freestyle dance" was a style of dance pioneered by ballet choreographer Eugene Loring in the 1940s and 50s. He mixed the best of ballet, modern, and jazz dance to make what he called freestyle. This approach was passed to his protoge, Matt Mattox, and from there on to me. This choreography is in the freestyle tradition, mixing many dance forms.
