LOL why left the game it happends to me more than once even if i put pylon all over the place but im bad at watch minimap --'. But no main, just one gateway and a lot of probe = win in this scenario, like HD said wall off the ramp or get 4 sentry and u ll be fine. HD, look at the foodcount at the end. Yes, Pavu was up on probes, but he had no army, at all. His wall-in was failing at the Zerg main, and he had nothing to back it up with. Anything he did, would mean he's lose his expo. If he walled in there, he'd lose his contain, and would be himself contained. He'd have no way out, and would quickly be outclassed by the Zerg. His loss was inevitable at this point, period. Artist would have had to try to fail to lose.

All artist had were lings, almost useless against a wall-off. Again, his army was tiny--any wall buildings would have come from that, and he couldn't afford to do that. He'd have had nothing to repel zerglings going after them from their start. Pavu totally lost that game by failing to defend against Nydus.

In other words, the zerg could have attacked a wall-off at the base of the ramp without ever exposing units to damage, and the protoss would simply waste time and resources trying to maintain it. For that matter, crawlers placed above could have attacked the mineral line directly, countering the worker advantage, or provided cover for a nydus inside the base.

Hell, he could have even tried dt expo, but in the end I suppose we're talking about a kinda crappy toss player newayz =D.

In the short term, yes, such a tactic would keep the player alive, at the cost of completely draining them of resources. During that time, the zerg player could either expand, tech swap, place crawlers or simply pumped zerglings. The protoss wouldn't be able to hold both ramps with only 3 force fields against over forty zerglings, especially with only one gateway to produce off of. More, a single round of drones would have given zerg full saturation, erasing toss advantage.
