@lnwreal9 its actually a fairly involved idea but the quick and dirty version is that as the G forces influence your body in the y-axis (think lines of longitude), they force the blood away from your brain (and also make your face look like an alien lol). the reason he tells him to flex his legs is because that helps to stop the blood from flowing out of your head by increasing blood psi. but you also have to build up pressure in your lungs by using the HIC maneuver and that he didnt do

I saw a documentary once from a flight school when they put a bunch of military flight students in the big centrifuge they got to simulate the amount of G´s the pilots must be able to handle. The ones that made it though without passing out got to train for the fighter jets, the ones that passed out were excluded from participating in that. They had to train for helicopter or other aircraft.

It has to be like a tube of water. At a given height it requires a given pressure to get water from the bottom to the top. I think the shorter the blood has to travel, the lower pressure is required. In my head this seems logical, but then again...i work construction and I´m no medicine man :p

Considiering the F/A-18 only takes 7.5 G (if I'm not mistaken), there's planes like the Eagle or Falcon taking 9 Gs, and the Su-37 Super Flanker taking 10 Gs. I think the Flanker will knock itself out because the pilot is gonna get squeezed

I just did this in a jet last month. If your not ready for it you just fall a sleep easy as pie. However if you tense your legs like your doing a weightlifting squat, and tense your torso while breathing deeply. Your all OK. In fact you can hear the piolt grunt while he does the deep pull at the begining of the Immelman. Breathing in and contracting your chest at the same time makes you grunt. You don't really pass out either, its more like going to sleep, then you wake up.Nothing girly about it

as a side note the Blue Angels do not wear Gsuits when flying, it was said that one of the bladders in the lower arm caused or could cause small stick movements that could create disaster flying 2 feet apart, so the pilot is pulling the same G's, however he knows exactly whats up and they actively monitor the passanger via the same video output you see here, actually on media day the passangers are given almost NO instruction, hell they take up 30 local reporters day prior to show

In short, because they are trained for it and the flight suits they wear. You hear the pilot telling him to flex his legs? You do this to keep blood in your brain so you don't black out and he was not doing it, at least not nearly enough. Consider pulling high g maneuvers a non-stop workout by having to constantly flex and hold certain muscles to keep your blood pressure in your head constant, so you don't pass out and crash. The suit also helps with this by squeezing zones on your body.
