I'll just point out 1 detail - in the movie it's made very clear the point of getting that unobtainium stuff is PROFIT. It's supposed to be a sort of superconductor material, so it's worth a lot of money. It won't save anyone's life back on Earth. That's like saying you need diamonds to save humankind.

@yodellingllama911 Well, the point of a LOT of the training is learning not to be so scared of being embarassed. It's really not so bad. Sure you'll ALWAYS get nervous about getting up in front of people, but you learn to use that rush as a sort of power/motivation for your work. Its tough at the beginning, but it's a LOT of fun! ^^ But for me, if acting doesn't work out, I do have the back up of character and special effects make-up design.

I bought this pack, and I am really satisfied with it. The graphics look better than in the no1. first dvd release, plus the extra scenes are good.... and there is a real good amount of deleted scenes, some are extremely good. (like Avatars' attack)

@bbenjoe Its a SHAME the 3D Bluray DOESNT have this extra content. Its the same as the regular bluray content wise, just in STUNNING 3D. For those without a Pansonic Viera 3DTV or those that dont know, Panasonic has exlcusive rights to the 3D bluray until February 2012. So NO retail untill after 2-2012. Its a shame really. I have a Samsung 3D & got lucky& had the Avatar 3D Bluray gave to me from someone that had Avatar 3D bundled free with his 3DPanasonic Viera, but didnt want his kids to see it

If Wizard of Oz is considered a live-action cartoon/Disney movie then who believes Avatar is the closet thing of being a live-action Japanese animated movie? I DO, i'm a huge fan of any kind of animation and i love how much James Cameron is influenced by Japanese animation or anime for short for this masterpiece. He is influenced by one of his fave directors/friends Hayao Miyazaki's works and Cameron is as awesome as Miyazaki/Ghibli production movies.

After seeing all 45 minutes of deleted scenes, I was surprised that only a couple of them were worth putting back in.  Most of it was just not good enough, or moved too slow. I can see why he kept them out. There was a couple scenes that would've been cool though, the "dream hunt/plasma storm", the "You're a long way from Earth/Selfridge and Quaritch", and the ceremony with drinking would have been cool, but dragged on a bit. I think he put in the right 16 minutes though.

It's easy for people who don't like it to break it down into it's component parts and criticise it - a sequel would be an attempt to explain what's already been said.
