@Roobiin111 no detergent etc, put them on the coldest wash possible, shortest time, if they are extremely dirty then use a very small amount of powder.

when you have finished, wring them out, and rub with an old towel, not too hard though. then leave the to dry naturally in an airing cupboard or summet so they dont dry out too much, sounds odd, but does maake a difference, btw, dont leave them in sunlight.

Im sorry, but why the hell would u do this, i have been a goalkeeper for a long time now, n i say put em in t washing machine, very cold prewash, and work away dirt with an old towl, good as new, keeps the gloves grip and performance high, note that specil glove detergent does not make any difference!

@jwcjwcjwcjwcjwcjwc it doesnt make a difference until the latex of the glove starts to deteriorate. thats why they tell you to clean your gloves before using them because the soaps that you use on clothes or skin is harmful to the palm because of the chemicals like chlorine and such.

@GetPunkk gloves should be cleaned after every use, even when new, this washes off any chemicals from production, and dirt from playing, as these act like another layer on the gloves, offering less ball to latex contact.

A prewash uses no detergent, and detergent should be avoided until later life of the glove as it cleans the palms deeper, should be prewashed after the normal wash, as chemicals can be left of the surface.

note: a prewash sould be cold, as this may differ on different machines.

Using just plain water works well and dosent risk as much glove damage. If u use soap, always use a lighter soap and make sure it is completly clean. And NEVER put them in the washer or dryer. It sounds silly but my friend did it and ended up having 2 get new ones because of it.

I used them, and they got dirty. That's not the problem. But when the 4th or 5th time I washed them, the latex eventually got worn out.

When I washed my keeper gloves a few times the latex started breaking down. What should I do and why does it break down? Also after I wash it the grip isn't quite as good. Should I wash it at all?

@Hattinghs Inevitably, the gloves will always lose their grip, especially latex. But if you don't clean the gloves, then the process of the latex breaking down will speed up, and you will lose your grip much faster. Keep them clean, and you will get the best out of your gloves.

@Buffon321Casillas the same way you would with glove wash. just scrub it gently with your fingertips with just water rather than the glove wash. rinse. dry. and i usually hang mine on a hanger in room temperature for a few hours

i would recommend using glove wash. it helps preserve the grip, removes the smell, and get the gloves much cleaner. if you cant get any online or anywhere than plain water will clean them and get most of the smell out.

i just used a small squirt (about the size of a 50p piece) of washing up liquid on a sponge to wash my gloves....seems fine to me!

Also..because my gloves have (Reusch raptor pro X1 ortho's) good 'wet n dry' grip does it matter if i play with them wet in dry conditions? i.e. Will they then play as if its wet rather than dry as the grip is amazing?!

what i do is i get my cleats next to me next ot a sink ans i start the water ant i work my hands in the studs untill all the dirt goes away, then u would want to use a soft brush and brush the shoe untill clean then get a cloth and pat dry the shoe then put the shoes out side and wrap them in a cloth and set them out side!!

Hi can you help me please? after i was my gloves {using a warm water and a bar of soap} the grip on my gloves becomes less, i only washed them twice and i already can see a big difference, also i wash them 1 a week. Is there a way i can also not rip my glove? In the palm of the glove, the surface has been damaged and is a bit scraped.

Washing gloves with a bar of soap is not ideal as soap includes oil in it so making the latex on the glove slippy. A good glove cleaner is what we recomend and also washing your gloves after each time you use them will help with grip and prolong the life of the latex. Hope this helps and good luck.

Best to wash gloves after using them but a good tip is before you play in your gloves just dampen the palms with water this activates the grip in the latex so you always play with palms slightly damp.
