It's amazing how these two Academy Award winners lived on past this scene, that willl go down in history as one of the dumbest ever conceived.Fucking stupid tune too. Well, when Mo'nique got an Oscar for a portrayal of her daily life, I just assumed they would give one to pretty much anyone. It's like Charlie Harper in Two and a Half Men, playing an alcoholic whoremonger didn't seem like much of a challenge to him It was like Keanu Reeves' Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, really fucking dumb!

Take Nick Cage or Robin Williams; they are not awful, but have had pretty shitty roles. Williams is not bad, but Flubber? Give me a fucking break. Maybe it was a dry streak, problems with the IRS, needed cash NOW to satisfy their addiction to blow...? I just mean that Oscar winners get bad roles after they win How can Jen Hudson get an Oscar and not Eddie Murphy? Come on..

@7jackman It was specifically done that way. The house exudes a feeling of old, how houses used to be. There's an entire website dedicated the house itself, with production notes and how it was designed and why they made the decisions that they did, including leaving out a refrigeration.

I don't know what it is but this movie has been one of my favorites since I was a little girl. I just dont tire of watching it over and over again. the mix of magic, love, sister bond, being an outcast, the setting, the house, the music - its all so perfect. Its a light movie but for some reason and I dont know why exactly but it really touches me!
