TP release are very cool, you'll see that you can even catch in real triangle pass (not like the "ugly" TP that your doing just after the catch). but it's not really important ^^

yeah, of course you can catch it with a real TP, but it's just harder :P but imo, for the beginning it's a good thing to catch it lower, because you have more control. then, slowly try to catch it higher and higher. but i think, there is nearly no difference, if it is catched a bit lower.
