JPRichardson.... props for researching these stats. It just proves that alot of people think that Marquez won, by stats, thrown, landed, powerpunches, etc.,. Having said that, I think the knockdown on the 3rd round was monumental in that fight, also the blood on Marquez's face was more destructive vs pac's face... That was probably what the judges had in mind. And you will never find those intangibles in the stat sheet.
A) The knockdown means a point was deducted from Marquez, nothing else than that. B) The cut on Marquez' face was produced by a evident headbutt, while the cut on Manny's face was the product of a clean shot that made him grimace in pain. Marquez still has the edge.
B) Look at the replays between Rounds 9 and 10 again JPRichardson. The cut on Marquez's right eyelid was from a punch, not a headbutt.
And also, even if Marquez landed more blows, did they do more quality, significant damage? Nope.
Sorry, but Pacquiao won the quality damage catagory.
And also, the aggression category. Pacman's pushing the fight forcing to JMM to backup and also following up on his shots tells judges Pacquiao is more aggressive.

I still give an edge to manny in terms of speed, power, stamina, and heart. A knockdown is always a factor to consider in decisions. And no way to believe marquez that he dominated the rest of the rounds except on third like he's saying in the first fight the he dominated from round 2 to 12.

JPRichardson.... props for researching these stats. It just proves that alot of people think that Marquez won, by stats, thrown, landed, powerpunches, etc.,. Having said that, I think the knockdown on the 3rd round was monumental in that fight, also the blood on Marquez's face was more destructive vs pac's face... That was probably what the judges had in mind. And you will never find those intangibles in the stat sheet.

A) The knockdown means a point was deducted from Marquez, nothing else than that. B) The cut on Marquez' face was produced by a evident headbutt, while the cut on Manny's face was the product of a clean shot that made him grimace in pain. Marquez still has the edge.

A) There was a knockdown. 10-8 Pacquiao.
B) Look at the replays between Rounds 9 and 10 again JPRichardson. The cut on Marquez's right eyelid was from a punch, not a headbutt.
And also, even if Marquez landed more blows, did they do more quality, significant damage? Nope.
Sorry, but Pacquiao won the quality damage catagory.
And also, the aggression category. Pacman's pushing the fight forcing to JMM to backup and also following up on his shots tells judges Pacquiao is more aggressive.

it's not on the volume, it's in the quality of punches. you may throw a million punches but that may not affect your opponent. but you can definitely throw ONE SINGLE PUNCH that could knock your opponent or make him groggy.. that's the way it is scored. trust me, i judge boxing matches in our place.

People who truly understand boxing know that the only reason Pacquiao beat Barrera and Morales is because they were tired old fighters past their prime who had been in a 1000 battles. Had they been in their prime, Pacquiao wouldn't have had a chance. He is such a great fighter that he got beat by an old 34 1/2 year old JMM. Explain that. I saw a clip of the post fight interviews and I think it's pathetic when Marquez's people kept saying "Everyone knows who won, all the people knows that Marquez is a better fighter". How can you honestly say Marquez won and he was the better fighter, when Manny made him kiss the canvas almost 5 times. A third fight will be the same, Manny will drop Marquez on the canvas again with a busted nose and Marquez will try to outbox Manny and hope to win a decision from the judges, Olympic style.

It is too bad that there are people here trading insults and viciously deriding each other. Filipinos and Mexicans are brothers with a heritage common to both people. Both Pacquiao and Marquez are champions and should be celebrated by everyone.

boxing's a gladiatory sport! people wanna see blood and explosiveness. marquez is the tactician and is head and shoulders above pacquiao in the art of boxing. you just get more stylin' points with power, damage and aggression... seen in pacquiao. that's why people will be more biased and admire pacquiao more. marquez is just like the li'l engine that could... but just don't have enough uuuumph!!! fights are more won with damage and aggression.........

pacman fights not only for flips but for all the asain's... hmong's, veit's, cambo's, thai's, chineses, jap's,etc... get it! finally the world unlesh a asian guy. give asian's a chance we are harder and better worker than those BEANS!! mexican only act like they work hard to servive. asains go all the way! look at mexico and then look at the other asain country's.. see the diffrents? u.s. only gives mexcican more chances to shine because they have a poor country,& u.s is always hattin on asian's

I think pacman defense has improve a lot, he block most of JMM counters in his arms that he did not do on the first fight. If theirs a third fight I believe pacquiao will win again. NExt target DAvid Dangerous Diaz. I believe manny will win over this mexico

I score it 6 rounds even. 1,3,4,7,9,10 is for pacquiao and the knockout crucial that gives an slim edge to pacman. Marquez is good but is not enough to beat pacquiao. I think that manny won the first fight by a slim edge also, marquez is lucky to have a draw. Only MOrales have a convincing win to pacman.

I love Marquez and I am a MEXICAN. But I give the credit to pacman. He was awesome good! he destroy Marquez on round 2,3,10 & 12. watch it again he was the winner! I thought was doin great but I saw it always got blocked by pacman.

No one can argue that it was a close fight. It can go either way. Because we are not at ringside we don't know the effect of the punches to each fighters. It will be a shame if the official winner of the fight will be judged by fans and viewers just like making a poll ala American Idol... he, he, he.

im a big time manny fan. dont start the hating but does any1 agree that he didnt seem to be fighting like the "old manny"? but other than that the fight was great. Crowd on the edge of their seats fight for sure.

i played the fight on my dvd today watch it closely round by round i was bios this is what i saw 115-112 for marquez and that does not include 1 point deduction for pacman headbutting like i said marquez robbed

I still give an edge to manny in terms of speed, power, stamina, and heart. A knockdown is always a factor to consider in decisions. And no way to believe marquez that he dominated the rest of the rounds except on third like he's saying in the first fight the he dominated from round 2 to 12.

If I was to decide what happened to the fight I would have made DRAW! I wasn't impressed on Manny's performance that night.. He was fighting like when he first fought with Morales and for Marquez all he does is run like a little bitch there's no more than 2 secs that he followed Manny...
