i'm not a fucking hipster, but i fell in love with this band when i was going through a tough time getting over my ex. i just moved into my new place and one of their songs was playing on the radio while i was unpacking my shit. this was in 2002. i liked them not because they were trendy but because the music moved me out of my slump and back into smoking pot with my friends. i've since quit the pot, but i'll never forget what their music did for my spirit.
I need to analyze the lyrics so I can get what everyone's talking about... But, AGH! Where did I hear this song? I can't remember whether or not it was at the mall or on the t.v...
the video clip was pretty cool.. reminded me of a song by coldplay... but what the fudge does the song have to do with the video clip?? random building being smashed and random hologram thing in the middle of the room with ppl like exploding? WTF haha :P i don't understand
@randomfuckwit69 It's in an art gallery. Holographic art might be considered by some to be a post modernist style of art. That is in comparison to the 'traditional' art hanging on the wall. If you take that art as an embodiment of a conservative culture, then he is advocating equal love and/or rights associated with that by breaking/ changing the "old culture". Canadian videos tend to be a bit more abstract, have you seen Scott Pilgrim?
