  • hey, i just started the ab ripper x program, im on my forth day. I do the workout every second day. I'm about 5'10 weigh 125lbs, and wear about a size 29-30 mens jeans if that helps at all lol. I currently don't have any abs, well there is about a 2-pack but thats about it. If someone could please help me and either reply to this comment or pm me on how long it would take me to do this program to get a 6 pack atleast that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :D

  • @96Raman96 Oh no it is NOT all of it, the disc is 16:57? minutes long, its around 16 to 17 minutes. IT FREAKING HURTS! I couldn't finish it, but I started it yesterday so that's probably why.

  • Few tips

    1. The Abs are like any other muscle, do them in sets of 10-15.

    2. Do them slower, you tend to rip the muscle more, you're doing them all too fast :L

  • @hellsretribution the abs are meant to be a lean muscle, so you do a larger set

  • I wonder if its ok to go to the gym and lift weights when I do Biceps,Triceps,Traps,Shoulders­...etc. But use only the P90X Ab exercise and skip the others?

  • @VedoB That's what im doing now, except me and few of my friends made a gym in my basement. When I dont feel like doing shoulders & arms for example, I just do weight lifting, but I do the rest ALWAYS, especially Yoga X.

    im getting a hell of a lot of leg cramps in my left leg during the ab ripper x, which happens to be my less flexible leg. just wondering if you ever got anyrthing like that? it's mainly in my hip flexors.

    Yeah, that definitely happens when you first start to build up your lower ab strength. These moves put a lot of focus on your upper thighs and quads in addition to tearing your abs up. Love p90x! and Ab Ripper X isn't even the best one of its workouts

  • people who are doing ab-ripper x for a while : do you think that by not doing all the exercises correctly,there could be bad consequences to the back or spine?

    ...because I have small issues with my upper-lower back muscles and middle-spine area,and could that be partly cause by this? (im 21,190cm tall and in the past I had calcium and iron deficiency,but not any more)

  • @acefujikura keep in mind, when you're doing the the p90x program, your following a strict program that involves other muscle groups. So over time your back and core muscles will get stronger through Yoga X, Back and Biceps, Legs and Back, Core Synergistics etc.

    Personally, I haven't had any problems with my back, but that could be attributed to me following the program to the T.

  • I suspect that Jackie knows that there are a lot of women and a few men who get somewhat aroused by the tension and friction of this exercise when pushed to the limit of endurance, and she just wanted to see if something came up!!!

  • This debate about age and fitness is meaningless. Either side being right or wrong is meaningless.

    We are all here to get into better shape, and if we desire it enough, we will get it. After craving and yearning for that perfect body, and resolutely making a do-or-die commitment, effort is secondary. It just DOESN'T MATTER. We're after increased fitness and a better-looking body, so stop complaining about the pain!

    You are a teenager, 15 or 16 if I may say. You should be able to do this easily. Just wait to reach 30 then I'll tell you how hard this set would get. Back then I could do 300 sit-ups in one set. Your body changes.

    Someone else who's 15-16 could have a hard time doing this because he/she hasn't started working out yet.

    Hence if you're fit when you're 30, you should be able to do this also. But say you're not fit, doing ab workouts would be hard for anyone regardless of age.

    Besides, being able to do it does not make it EASY. Who would do a workout that's EASY?

  • Age does matter when you do the comparison with the same person. As you age, your body changes, most capabilities you had will suffer over time. Of course, certain aspects of your body change for better such as strength but for instance, your flexibility and metabolism diminish.

    When I was 15, I could round kick, climb a straight wall, etc.. Yes, indeed, one's condition does contribute to the outcome but being fit at 15 is different from being fit at 30 or 45 -- that was my point.

  • well that in itself is impressive bub.... I'm a gymnast and i can't even get thru that whole thing and i've been doing it for 2 weeks! I can get thru the first 5 exercises without stopping. After that i suffer. Your ab muscles must be in phenomenal shape. you should post your video of it. I would love to see it for motivation!
