I was a 9-1-1 operator from 1990-94 and we had this at work, on cassette (pre-Internet days). Supposedly it was from "south Florida," but who knows. I'm starting to believe this may be way older than previously thought. Regardless, I'm glad I found your post with such good sound quality! Thanks!
Laughter's involuntary so it's hard to explain why something's funny. In this case, it's Joe's foul language + frustration, his story-telling "gift", the stupidity of putting the deer in the backseat, and of course the frequent use of "muttafuckin'" And let's not forget BAMBALANCE!!! Ahaha!!! It's sort of as if Joe's level of exasperation is completely disconnected from his own role in this mess. That incongruity, the stories' oddity, plus all of the above, is what makes it funny, IMO.
Ah yes, cassettes, I remember those ;-) I first heard this over the phone. A friend had given me the # to a local radio station where you could hear the joke of the day or something like that. I was in so much pain and couldn't breathe from laughing so hard - I accused my friend of trying to kill me!
This isnt fake, this happened back in the 80s, i remember when this happened, my uncle had the recording of this back then and its definitly real, its sounds fake but thats because its soo fuckin funny to be real.
Wow..Glad U posted this..Been looking for it..Use to have it on a audio tape,,Doug Banks would play this in the morning when he hosted with Tom Joyner on Wgci in Chicago..Soo Funny..

Joe was the supervisor training the 911 operators when 911 just started in Harris Co. Texas. He called to see how the operators would react.

Would you please explain to me why people think this is funny? I think you might understand the best, I don't see the humor.

The audio is good, but the pictures lack integrity. As I understand it, this was originally a training call for a guy in the SW somewhere.
