"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being
free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
McCain is such an American hero. He's such an amazing a great man -- he's make a WONDERFUL president! I can't imagine anyone else doing even half as well as he could!

McCain will NEVER become president.America is sick of old white failures.Being captured does not make him a hero it proves he cannot perform his duties correctly. What an embarrassment.
As an Obama supporter, I find your comment deeply ignorant and vulgar. John McCain is an "embarrassment"? A man who braved war and suffered for 5 years under unimaginable conditions, who refused to leave prison early because his comrades would be left behind, who rejects torture in America even as millions in his party support it? I might disagree with him politically, but he is no embarrassment.
Refusing to go free when his fellow soldiers remained in a N. Vietnamese prison qualifies as heroic. You can say a lot of things about John McCain, but the man has guts.
Yes Jeff there are worse things than war.

It depends on the purpose of the war - I would fight in Afghanistan but not in Iraq. Thank you

McOld refusing to leave prison is a right wingnut myth.He begged daily for his mommy and did "Favors" for his captors to get extra rice.
Coward and a traitor.

Thank God John McCain had the courage to support the Iraq war all these years. He is uncompromising in his principles.
