I think there's actually a similar evolution for Evee in the the upcoming Pokemon Black/White games.

The pokemon in Black/White are in no way related to those in earlier generations because Unova is based on New York, whereas Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh are all based on Japanese cities. Some of the pokemon in 5th gen might resemble ones from an earlier generation, but there're no relations. If a 6th generation is made, I imagine it'd expand on 5th gen as opposed to expanding on the previous ones. It'd be a shame too, as Dragon and Ghost eeveelutions would own.
