I'm not a martial arts expert at all... But looking at it I'd guess there's a heavy influence of Muay Thai (using elbow, heel, other hard surfaces of body). I think I see some Jiu Jitsu too (grappling, using no weapons). And then there's some shooting too ;)
Lol flarty. Actually I think the reason he didn't is because it came down and went up so slowly, and the other guys were so close to breaking down the door they would have lit him up while he was hanging in the shaft before he had a chance to make it all the way back up.

Too many camera edits-- 3 camera shots per strike is excessive. Wish they would have given the actor more credit with better fight cinematography. Early Jackie Chan movies benefited from the lack of funds/cameras, so they were done in long takes. Luc Besson needs to have his funds cut.
