  • For a "straight" performance, this one is all Frederick.. The response? The revised version from 2011...

  • Waitin for Frederick Hodges on this site of the ocean! Muir and Gilbert can be proud.

  • Spectacular! Fireworks! HOT!

    5 STARS!

  • Once again Dr. Hodges makes other renditions look pathetic by comparison. He is truly a master of the piano, especially the use of the middle pedal, and he makes it all look so easy!

  • Wow. Even beats J. Lawrence Cook's fabulous version of Waitin' for the Robert E. Lee!

  • Sounds like the old Dixieland standard "Waiting for the Robert E. Lee" although the first few seconds quote "Handful of Keys" by Fats Waller

  • That's exactly what it is! "Waitin' For the Robert E. Lee" was composed by Lewis F. Muir with words by L. Wolfe Gilbert, and published in 1911. Frederick is dressed as a ship's captain, and one can only wonder where he found that outfit. This is also part of Mimi's variety show.

  • Frederick's nautical attire is reminiscent of Darrell Dragon(The "Captain' of "The Captain and Tennile") but as far as piano playing is concerned, there's no comparison!
