i dunno, pausing the game DOES effect the characters even if you have no control over them during the ultra animation. weve tested this is rose and seth as it fucks up how it hits. not saying it does when ryus ultra is going off or not. but i could be fighting a gief and he FA all my fireballs and ultras me when were both at full life, and i hit pause during the ultra, i would forfeit the round by DQ right??

The pause/xbox guide button rule is enforced at anytime. Just like HeavyD's match during Round 1 week 1. Same rules were used at EVO this year.

i can see that if its in the middle of something actually happening, but if it happens during a super/ultra that connected than it should be let go, thats some bs that he lost a round cuz his finger slipped during a time where no1 had control of the characer

I'm pretty sure Mike paused on purpose since he thought the Ultra was going to kill his Ken. It's happened a few times already, most because people want to "skip" the Ultras and move onto the next round (ie. Seth's). Pauses and stuff like that should be rare occurances (it's happened to me in the finals before..and it sucks), but it's the rules. But thanks for watching the vids man I appreciate it.

If the ultra were to actually kill him, it wouldn't have mattered due to the new evo rule of "inevitable death." The fact of the matter is pausing SEVERELY throws off the flow of the match, and if you're flailing your hands about so much that your hand not only reaches the corner of your stick, but then goes all the way to the front and presses start, you might wanna calm it down a bit. >_>

Pausing in the middle of an Ultra shouldn't be a DQ as there is nothing going on besides waiting for it to finish. Any other time, yes.
