~BRAVO!! -Absolutely fabulous! There's nothing more stimulating to ones aural-senses than the 'Mighty-Wurlitzer Pipe-organ'; -my Grandfather had piano-store on Vermont-Ave. in LosAngeles during 1920's, tuned most of Pipe-organs in the city. Around circa-1980's in PacificBeach Calif, on Garnet-Ave. there was a fantastic huge Pizza/Beer-hall, had a Mighty-Wurlitzer much as one shown here, replete with bird-calls & light-up's in the rafters, astounding keyboardist; glorious time was had by all.!!!
Think I prefer this to the arrangment in (2), altho' slower tempo than usual. Both enjoyable. I can't understand people's prejudice against any good instrument, well-played; or how they can't appreciate the ingenuity and skill which when into creating something with such a broad musical range. Who is playing in this series of uploads, please?
@bakelitetim Some people just don't like what they don't know very well. In all fairness, the theatre organ DID start out as a glorified sound effects machine, but to continue to treat it as such when it's really much more is a bit silly. Some people are just that way, unfortunately.
Now I'm even more speechless than after the last organ video i watched. As a proud player and owner of a Hammond B3, of course I knew of the existance of these amazing theatre organs. But it has been ages since I had listened to a good recording. Goosebumps all over!!!

My Organ teacher hates the WurliTzer.....How can somebody be so closed minded, when faced with a recording like this?????

Alexander's band never had it so good. It's bubbly, breezy, percolating with joy. The mighty Wurlitzer with a master musician at the keyboard.
