It's a great song, but you've completely misunderstood the meaning. It's about Ian Curtis' experience as a sufferer of epilepsy. It's about being isolated for fear that something will cause a fit, feeling ashamed over the debilitating condition and finding enlightenment in the moment before a fit.

I agree with KBthinker about the meaning. The first part seems to be about a troubled relationship which is falling apart and causing the individual in question to become increasingly distressed. The third part reminds me of the movie pi. Curtis seems to be describing a person who has started seeing the world in much finer detail but in a way that could never be understood by the general population, thus furthering their isolation.
