@PunkKitten13 I think your wrong. We did this last year for a school district theatre event and made the judges cry and were in middle school. I dont think it matters how old u r it's how u act I just got back from the same thing but we did a dif play and they treated us like we were famous.
@TheApplefan4life I AGREE WITH YOU 100%! My sister's high school did it and it was AMAZING! The set, acting, costumes, everything! Her school's drama program is the best in my state. They have one director for all their plays and he's worked on Broadway and won some huge award, (I can't remember the name.) so everyone expects her school's plays to be awesome. um... well, the play is called john lennon and me, and the main character sorta likes john lennon! it does revolve around him! its supposed to be symbolic, and a form of subtext, but no, not about lennon!
um... they start teaching you about sex in grade 5! the kids in this play are grade 9! so, for about 5 years, they've been learning about sex in school, and thanks to the internet.......well,...you know the rest! =D
actually, the two scenes were they make out got replaced by simple pecks on the cheek, but they still did the cinematic one, and they were mature about it!
As far as I can tell, the crew had a lot of fun working on OUR production of the play. It doesn't really matter if others say "your production of this play suxxx ass", because it doesn't.

I disagree because I did this play in 7th grade and it was fine. Most middle school kids (theatre kids anyway) are mature enough to handle it.

My school is doing this play but we cut a LOT to make it under 40 minutes. (It is now 3
1/2 minutes considering we had to go to contest)I play Star. And it is a LOT better than this.
