  • My friends had few BTO albums, back in the 70s. We partied and rocked out to BTO countless times. I thought the lyrics said, "Look at the signs, movin the wrong way. Move out boys, let's get ready to race. 454 coming over the hill. The man on the toll's gonna to give us a bill." I always thought, "These guys are crazy! Speeding down a toll road, in the wrong direction, with a truck and trailer and laughing that, the toll taker can send them the bill later. That's just nuts!" I was wrong. Ha ha!

  • WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Glad I grew up in this rock generation! Let it ROLL

  • LET THIS MOTHER FUCKER ROLL!!!!!!!

  • Who is the one who has the nerve to just click the dislike?

  • @Bigstarrocker9 Someone's finger slipped.

  • BTO hit #14 in Billboard, 3-1-75. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • i keep telling myself i was born in the wrong generation... :(

  • BTO is the ultimate driving down the highway band!

  • When this song came out I was 15 & already a BTO fan. You kids too young to remember, ask your parents how we use to have to actually listen to a radio. It was a real PITA but we didn't know it, we figured it was awesome to have a box of parts that spewed out our favorite songs.

Anyway, I was born with bad hearing & I couldn't understand what the hell he was saying but I made up words until the chorus & then I'd REALLY let it rip

"Let it Roll! Down the highway! Roll! Roll! Rollllllllll!"

  • @Nightwing690- I was there, and I'm so glad I was! Rap is crap!

  • Ready for road trip,,,who's bring to funny sandwishes?

  • @Valentine21ful ME!!!!!

  • Ah, such high school memories...back when rock and roll ruled. I can still see myself cruising down the highway with this song blasting away. It's still a great jam 35 years later.

  • i do telemarketing...im fucking 19...saving for college...i swear i wait to hear this come on the radio everyday. turns my frown upside downnn. i love you bto.

  • Rock N Roll Will Never Die!

  • Hell yeah

  • yes you cant beat a classic like this, always loved this tune, still sounds great after 35 years, gotta love it

  • did they steal this off of Kiss? I think Gene Simmons wrote this....

  • @Andreas748 sadly mistaken! way before kiss

  • U said it Nightwing.

Music will never be like this again

  • I don't know how half the syrup on the radio these days passes as music.

  • thank god I grew up with all the greatest music like this... it was the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • And thumbs up to that retarded, unmanly, chickeen sheet, idioscentric, poop luvin, pussy pansyeen, new man of the century law abiding dislike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fuck that one asshole who cliked dislike..must be underindulgent and to cheap. no class..musta bought the cheap ass wine.

  • BTO Got Me Thru The 70's !

  • BTO...what can you say...this band personifies the 70's for me.

  • I wish more kids like me would love and understand this type of music as much as i do

  • @joeythechevyguy The good music is loved by every generation

  • There is no such thing as Rock Bands anymore... Just kids that sing to Musac! I'm going to teach the younger generation about these great Bands!

  • @ShellTrek I'm 14, I couldn't be happier if you gave thee wonders of the 70's to the little faggots with there computer genorized voice enhanced crap.

  • got to love the 70's riding in skips van smokin "the days gone by to fast"

  • No Dislikes thats how it suppose to be!

  • No DisLikes! Lets Keep It That Way!!

  • these songs remind me of being in the corps in the 70's being on float with my brothers in arms semper fi to all

  • You guys raised this current generation. Don't act like the ones who listen to bad rap and bad rock are the problem. Maybe you never picked up an instrument? Maybe you did, but you never played for the joy, and only for the top? Go back to your bottle or do something.

  • Well Said, Very well said!!!

  • another perfect example of how awful and talentless todays music is.

  • man i love this band

  • yeah baby !!! roll on down the highway !!!

  • saw them in concert in the mid to late 70's. music still rocks!!

  • Same here, Wheezetones. But it was always such a great song that it didn't seem to matter if I understood the words or not. But my thanks also for posting the lyrics. It is nice to finally know what they were saying.

  • the best tune they ever did by far

  • by far their best work...

  • i am alomst jealous of te people that grew up with this music, my generation has to deal with this retarded demon-voiced death metal bullshit, and crappy click and whistle rap where the artists are so into saying nigger every 5 seconds in every song, really wish I could have grown up in the 70's with this

  • @Nightwing690 that's why if you keep listening to it and sing it to kids who dont understand then you'll find the right people to hang out with

  • @Nightwing690 amen bro

  • @Nightwing690 I remember when these guys were introduced, on the radio, here in the states back in the 70's, excellent music, excellent road trip music... always had a blast listening to them heading to the ole Spectrum in Philly for a concert.... just enjoy it for what it is... really good music! And I agree with you about today's, ahem, "music"... not. It's junk, most of it, that is..... Keep on rockin !!!

  • @kewlbreez Spectrum is no more:(

  • @Nightwing690 had this when i was in 10th grade. i turn 51 tomorrow ans still love the old stuff i grew up on.

  • @Nightwing690 no need to be "almost jealous" I am 54 years old now, I remember when the Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show Feb. 1964. I watched on a black and white T. V. It was a wonderful experience for all rock music. BTO was, I am sure inspired, and so many other bands. I feel the music of this time period will never be erased!

  • @gene347 you re right !.i m 60 .and at that time while this song started playing on the radio.every youth who own a car could not help cranking up the radio and crush down the pedal gaz ( with a little beer between our legs too !!!.) it was a real good old time .i m sorry for you youngers.but just one shadow,in 1973 there was the record of most death on roads of all the times in canada,,,

  • @claclown Sure it was a glorious time to listen good music and party ! But it is a changed world now. For the younger generation, I am all for "Designated Driver."

  • @Nightwing690 I don't think death metal is retarded or bullshit; at the very least they're playing instruments-generally quite technically I might add. This is a BTO video though, so why talk about dm?

  • @wolffrankenstein That's a lot nicer than what I wanted to write. I agree bottom line, leave death metal out of the equation here. Many of us "headbangers" grew up on classic rock and not to mention the influence it had on the metal scene.

  • @Nightwing690 Drive a classic car, listen to the music, and there you go. You ain't gotta deal with the shitheads of today. All you got is a screaming v8 and some good music and suddenly you go back. Even if you didn't grow up back then. We can hardly say this new era has a place in history so go ahead and re live the good times.

  • @ToArmsInDixie BY GOD YOU'VE GOT THAT RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ToArmsInDixie you rock.

  • @Nightwing690 growin up in the 80s was really good too ;)

  • @Nightwing690 I know how You feel. I pretty much hate the CRAP that's made today & I didn't realize how much I missed this kind of music until the Net came about. This is the first time I have ever seen the words. It was 1976 when this song came out and BANG!!!! WHAT A HIT!!!!! Makes me Wish I was 18 again.

  • @Nightwing690 exactly.

  • @Nightwing690 i think of that all the time, i'm 15. i love music. but i don't listening to hardly any music after the year 2000. everything before that is what music is. it's not that i hate music evolution, it's that i can't stand how superficial, shallow, and untalented we have become; ie. Ke$ha.

  • @Nightwing690 Thankfully, we had some kind of recording technology back then so this music could live on for future generations. I agree with you, today's music SUCKS. As for what they currently call "heavy metal" it sounds like a temper tantrum with guitars in the background, bear in mind this is coming from a guy who used to listen to 80's "hair metal"

  • @Nightwing690 yep you got it mate. 78 to around 86 was the golden age for me.:) m50 yep i was there. i dread where music is heading. idol, got talent, xfactor will destroy good music from talented people.

  • @AdAmAzOfF u must some sorta of fuckin punk cause the music we have nowadays is all trash

  • @AdAmAzOfF then why are you watching it?

  • @dudeduck me?

  • @groooovaymaaaan nah to some guy who said he did'nt like it

i own this record and i cant get enough of it

    Not Fragile rules!!!

  • Another song listened to as we hauled asssss down highway 5 to Madera to party like mad women! Rock the hell onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

  • One of my all time favourite tunes to hear and to play.... the solo is beautiful...you can hum some of the parts...Thanks to the internet, after 30 years..I finally know all the lyrics.. BTO,April Wine, Prism, Teaze, Helix....great Canadian Bands that did not get the recognition they deserved. Bring them out today and you could say good bye to Knickle Back and such...

  • Just a flat-out, pure rock n roll classic!

  • i love this song. its just one of those "hop on and ride off haul ass" music

  • This just kicks ass. It's a polished Mac truck, a full-chrome Harley, and a candy-apple '68 Mustang convertible all riding side-by-side at 75 MPH on a desert highway, with all radios cranked to this song...lol.

  • this is a total get in your car and haul ass song. i love it

  • this is a total get in your car and haul ass song. i love it

  • Hit #14 in the US (Billboard). How'd it do in LCanada? God bless!

  • OMG. I "air guitar'd" this song in grammer school for a music project. LOL (1977)

  • yeahhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • love it

  • un less you have been aDriver LOl meant in all Goodness

  • I heard this song on the radio the other day and thought to myself, "This song has to have the most indecipherable lyrics ever!" It occurred to me that I'd never understood any of the lyrics except the chorus.

    Thanks for posting the lyrics!

  • @Wheezetones yup, its hard to understand what theyre saying , but doesnt really matter to me, kickin song , all time classic....be careful listening to this sont on the highway...easy to get a speeding ticket :P
