Since the game is pretty damn easy if you over level your starter, I tend to give myself a challenge. For example, I take on the Elite for with a low 40's party, consisting of a random team of Under Used poke's. An example team I would use would be Fearow, Donphan, Heracross, Hypno, Tentacruel, and Meganium, which is highly defensive and therefore changes your approach to the battles. just adds challenge to the game

You can get really good pokemon without legends, not to mention raising normals is more worthwhile once again for wifi use. Another tip, keep as much diversity in your types and movees as possible, it will help you a lot

Goldenrod City. TM41- Thunderpunch is on the 4th floor for $3,000, along with the other elemental punches. It's better in Crystal if you have a bred Elekid w/ Cross Chop and teach it the elemental punches, though it learns Thunderpunch via level-up. Level 12 I think.

may I give you some pointers?

1st you need to train ALL of your pokemon like you do your Typhlosion. He's at LvL 62 when your Wooper is lvl 6 that is a bad thing! What happenes when Typhlosion faints and you don't have a revive?

2nd you should widen your range of moves don't just stick with same type, give them something your oppenent won't expect, Good moves for Typhlosion are, Flamethrower, Earthquake, Double-Edge, and Swift.

Typhlosion can learn thunderpuch but not through leveling up you have to use the TM

also make sure your team is well balanced like one fire type, one grass type, one water type, one electric type, and one flying type then like a good ground or dark type

the reason it was "easy" is because of overtraining! you try and take on the 4 without training in grass, and only on trainers, it will be hard.

Problems are simples:

Aside of trainers Red and Blue (Ash and Regis), most trainers (included elite four) have "weak pokemons" level wise. See Elite four in Blue/Red/Yellow...level 51 to 62...not to mention Regis' pokemons up to level 65!

Also, lack of strong level pokemons. Aside of "legendary" ones, you don't find any pokemon above level 50, while the unknown dungeon in old games was full of level 50 to 65 wild pokemons...
