  • maximus!

  • maxim isn't just a violinist he's already humanist....i do like this man

  • He makes it look like it was easy and it is NOT hahaha, however, I love him!

  • Wow, I'm not a violinist but I learned a lot from this lesson. I can apply what he's teaching to his student to my daily life.

  • :o Mozart invented basketball !

  • Vengerov is a great artist but he wants to "make" a lot of small Vengerovs... What would he say to Heifetz?

  • @SuperViolinplayer Aaah but Maxim already has a little vengerov it's name is Violetta Kreisler this is his baby and it is very special to him-sorry Violetta Kreisler got there first-haaah,haah. Don't feel bad though Violetta Kreisler is extremely jealous of Maxim's conducting it is going to be a fight to see which one wins this one-haaah, haaah.

  • @SuperViolinplayer probably "teach me please!!!"

    haha..just kidding

  • @SuperViolinplayer He wouldn't have a lot to say to Heifetz. I think it would end up as a discussion on different ideas and ways of interpreting the peice.

  • @SuperViolinplayer of course every interpret thinks that his interpretation is how the composer thought of the piece

  • so beautiful!

I want to play like this!

  • OMG this guy would rip me apart! I love how teachers can always find something you can improve on.

  • He explains the emotions quite perfectly, i understand how he became recognised as one of the best violinist and musician currently alive!

  • "Every composer has a different color in it" - Vengerov

  • What's song in 1:42 ??

  • @ronaldaodss It is Tchaikovsky Concerto in D Major. Very very beautiful concerto.

  • LOL!

  • this was my exam piece fucking 4 years ago, and I just discovered THIS?! OMG

  • intonation,

The first accord have to be so power full because you enrty after orchestra btw its you starting of playing...:-) I thing it have to be two-two or 2 and 3

    yes, his right, the style...

sorry, you get god playing but first try to listen more music's of Mozart and try to udnerstand his style...listen his piano concerts, operas, symphonies and violin concert's. -) in 5-17 he makes som funny, he smile under music..

  • @takhirviolinest btw open book and read about his life a little, I mean when he wrote this concert, how many years old he had. some times he writing as big people, some times much funny some times he feels romatism, in this concerto to much interesting thing -)

  • strow it away!

  • she should be grateful to be in a masterclass of maxim vengerov! it looks as if she disregards his points. :(

  • @wakuwakuluigiviolin you are right lol i actually had and still have the same impression from the first time i saw this clip !! she is like she gets annoied every time he stopes her !!!

  • @violonistchris so true! i don't think she would succeed if she can't take constructive criticism. :(

  • his very last note on this video was flat

  • Compare Vengerov and this random person and you can see the obvious difference...

  • How nice to notice that even Vengerov students are not worldclass :)

  • she's like, 'ok, I got it, Maxim. Now listen to me playing.'

  • he is asking a lot from the student, I think she was listening and playing very well, from 3:09 you could see that she clearly understood maxim's analogy with the basketball, to wait a little before landing on the second note.

  • poor girl!

    but, i love the teacher.

    finalmente lo logra.

  • i dont see what hes talking about she sounds fine to me lol i would be annoyed if i was her

  • i dont like her attitude....-.-

  • @julian54578 I agree. Her attitude stinks for someone in masterclass.

  • O.O

    Un mentor como el

    cuanto ha de cobrar????

  • Phrasing is one of the most difficult aspect of any instrument, but a lot of it has to do with emotion. If you put emotion into it the phrasing should come more naturally.

  • the pianist is tadashi imai?

  • the pianist is tadashi imai?

  • que interesante. Ojala y pueda conseguir el DVD, MUY BUENO.

  • 3:25 she doesnt really understand what hes telling her.

  • maxim was very patient, if that was me, i can't take much longer...

  • Lol 3:46 "this is easy (violin shred) this is really easy"

  • i think he would kick my ass in a masterclass!

  • Maxim Vengerov is one of my favorite artists and teachers....

  • same

  • good violin

  • I think all of you are spiteful and disappointed with your own playing.

I know this girl, she is a very good violinist.U haven't play in this course..why??U just abel to say bad words about the other person but you cant do as good thing your„victims

and it was a masterclass forVIOLINISTnot for topmodels..I can't understand U. U think that David Ojsztrah weren't a good violinist because he weren't thin???all of you are spiteful and unpolite person!I don't think just one of you could be musician!

  • I always crack up laughing at 0:57!!!

  • Comment removed

  • retard student....

  • She is not a retard student, her problem is that she does not sing what she plays.

This is the problem of many, who dedicated to play the notes and do not sing with feeling, or just have impregnated interpretations of romanticism of this kind of concert

  • wow, these students really can't change how they play. They're good, but they don't listen to anything he says. Phrasing can be very difficult, but they are just so stubborn, probably because they practice so much so they aren't fluid with their expressions. Instead, their feelings are solidified into the music.

  • at 5:25 I shook my head and said "damn"

  • He could be a singer)))

  • The girl looks exasperate...he's patient

  • Vengerov is even SINGING very musical in my eyes!

    What a warm person!

  • if i i were there i throw the violin awaye exacly to her empty head

these kind of persons do not achieve a remarkable summit in their way

student must learn NOT just practice in his/her own wrong way

  • And if I'd be there I'd lift the fucking piano and crush it into your head.

  • Well said.

  • whats the name of the song they are working on ?! its so beautiful

  • It's Mozart's 3rd Violin Concerto. He's singing bits of the 1st movement that they are working on.

  • She's either nervous or she doesn't like being in that masterclass or something. Something about her facial expression puts me off. =S

  • argh.. this girl is quite slow, vengerov is very patient

  • maxim=very gud-->luv him:-)-->but he duznt perform anymor:-(

the gurl-->not gud enuf-->dnt like her-->shudnt play tha vln if she cant!

    lol

  • he is patient...excelent

  • she's ugly !!!!!!!!!!

  • Is Nikita Borisoglebsky behind him ..!??

  • me encanto ese gesto: "dejate de romper las pelotas, maxi !!"

  • But he ´s very patient, he doesn´t get annoied. Maybe she´s insecure or nervous?

  • @5l19a: I love how patient he is! =D A lot of professionals can be snobby, but he sure isn't. ;) And he it looks like he's havin' fun. :3

  • I really don't think she's nervous. She seems like a really hard worker who understands music very well. Shes more frustrated with herself it seems....

  • @5l19a lol it's perfectly understandable if she's nervous xD

  • @5l19a It's hard to get to a masterclass and have a great master correct you on things you thought you where right.Especially because masterclasses are meant to teach something too personal about someone's interpretation. The pupil has to forget the ideas she/he had about a lot of phrases and a lot of ideas that come from their own musicianship. Even things they had not noticed, like the Tchaikovsky color use Vengerov points out.A master class is too short for what it intends, pupils get stressed.

  • This girl is so determined to keep her own interpretation of this piece that she almost completely dismisses his advice.

  • i think this girl is not enough open to learn from a big like maxim. a masterclass is suposs to open your mind to new ideas and technics

  • y todavia se encabrona porke le dice como hacerle pa que se oiga mejor

  • Jejeje al fin una pieza que puedo tocar... jeje.. GOOD, MAXIN!!

  • What is she doin? she should start on an down bow on the 1st beat of the bar! This will allow time for a retake of the bow which will set the G after the inital chord in the exact spot! ALL ABOUT TIMING!

  • DeLay, How we miss you!

  • Totally agree!!

  • It's not that he's big headed....By performing in Maxim Vengerov's masterclass, this girl is admitting that he is better than her, and will try to integrate concepts from him into her own playing. She can't absorb these concepts quickly, so he tries and tries to make a difference in her playing, but there is barely any change. I thank you for rating my comment down as to show your bigotry for how masterclasses work.

  • i know people really should understand whats going on before they put somthing down.

  • There are no "big" and "small" aspects in music. There are only notes. Notes make up phrases. The linking of phrases in turn makes up a song. You can't have a building without bricks. I hate the kind of teachers that only care about "the big picture;" they are inadequate.

  • Excuse me, you didn't understand me correctly. What I meant is that the total length of a masterclass is very limited, so there is not enough time for discuss about every note, for impose your criteria on everything. On the other hand, a teacher must not annul the own personality of his students. Art is something alive, it is not as predictible as Vengerov thinks.

  • It's possible that it's actually a series of classes and that it was merely made into a video. Furthermore, it's not annulling the personality of students so much as it is maturing them in music. There's nothing that she's doing that is particularly unique, while Vengerov's interpretations truly are distinct (For better or worse).

  • perhaps you don't understand the significance of the first two notes in this piece.

  • So why is she coming to his master class? If she wants to play it in her own way, there was no need for her to come to the masterclass. In a masterclass one has to be surrender to the master opinions, open minded, and be able to try what the master says. Later on, you should weigh which ideas from the master agree with your way of playing and incorporate them, and disregard those that you think don't contribute to much to your technique or style. Or was she trying to show him how well she plays?

  • i like your point but. if you are someone's main teacher then yes the big points are the biggest focus. At a masterclass you have limited tools, you offer them bits that point to a bigger truth, if only partially. If you understand the inherent potential of a single phrase, then one can approach other phrases and work on them with this knowledge. You don't really need to go through much of the concerto to cover a big picture. great teacher told me gotta pick many things from one bit of info.

  • agree, You can't play exactly like someone else. Vengerov wants the girl to play just like him. :S

  • Excuse me for saying this, but this girl is a little slow, especially for someone taking a masterclass from someone with an absolutely full schedule. Maxim was trying so hard but he couldn't get through.
