Hello ppl mayb someone can help me with my problem. : i got my gauge connected and while connectin it to start up , it "swooshed" then when it was supose to return , it stoped halfway and now it wont move ??!
You should really put the boost gauge closest to the driver. Nice vid, very fancy, I have some old old HKS's in my supra, and am looking for something more high-tech without a single bulb that bounces light to the face, and not backlit like these, how much are they?
So, there is 8 months around and one of my three Swoosh SM68 gauges broke down... Only 2 months over warranty period. I just get new one today. But overall this are pretty good gauges for that price and also very acurate. I just hope that they will work longer than now.
Update... Two more gauges broke down, again in less than a year... Very dissapointed but nevertheless they were acurate and very clean looking - while they were working. Quality is poor, too shame for this gauges.
4g15, what is you opinion, have you got any problems with them?
your the most retarded person i've ever heard commenting over a boost gauge IT has to read 0vac 0psi when the engine is off you think it has to read vac when the engine is off ? how can the engine pull vacuum when its off learn about something before you talk ...
Connected? Do you mean to the motor or in the cabin? ATI makes a nice gauge pod for 02+ WRX/STI(fits 52mm and 60mm gauges). You can get a threaded oil galley plug and a remote oil pressure sender along with the npt adapter kit and replace the blocked off oil galley plug on the motor(directly below the top mount intercooler). Maybe I'll make a video of this. Hard to explain
I don't have a temp gauge installed in my car I have oil pressure but I know a few ways that you could wire one. If you would like a fairly simple description of how to do that I can write one up, or take a video and show where a temp gauge WOULD be. You can use a "sandwich plate adapter"(easily found on many subaru performance sites) or you can tap the oil galley(slightly more difficult, but more accurate IMO)
The gauges are not too bad, the stepper motor in them will help keep them a little bit more accurate then normal. Boost is about right when compared.
The Dash in the wrx is a matt dark grey/black color. I got the dash cluster off ebay, its fibreglass with gelcoat ontop and a grey paint job - it doesnt quite match and prob needs to be painted. The speedo lights are green, doest quite match but you dont really notice. Defi dont even make gauges that match our dash cluster:(
I just bought them on e-bay. I don't install them yet, because i am waiting to get gauge pod, then i will install them. It looks pretty cool and quality. I wanted green lightening, but i found only white, so i hope it will match with my green dash lights. It has also a stepper motor, so it must be very good accuracy.

If you put the key in and start it straight up, does it mess up the gauges? Or do you have to wait for the "turn-on ceremony" to complete?

hahaha.

@legalyzefreed0m doesnt matter, they turn off for a second when you start the car and they do the opening ceremony again

parson my stupidity, for I don't own or know much about WRX's, but is it normal for them to crank over that slow?
mgospeed31 2 years ago
Yeah, it distracts idiots who rev their engines before they have any oil pressure long enough for it to warm up.
Just kidding. But yeah, those gauges are slow as hell. I guess it's supposed to look cool or something.

No.

@4G15: What color is your dash in WRX?
Phepheron 3 years ago
How have you found these gauges? Any problems? is the boost fairly accurate etc? Are these the SM68?
Im thinking of getting some because I don't really want to spend crazy money on Defi gauges. But these look better than usual ebay rubbish.
This video plus 1 or 2 google hits are all I can find. So I'm unsure about them...
