i just auditioned for poms and i am going into 9th grade this year. auditions is the scariest part... mostly because you dont know the coach or older girls very well. dont worry about it.. its hard for everyone.some tips i have for you are SMILE, point your toes at all times, dont be too tense.. relax, be bouncy, and hit all of your marks really sharp. if you do all of these things, you wont have a problem getting in. if you forget part of the routine, keep smiling! i mde the team, its so fun.
no, you dont have to take dance classes outside of school to make it.
gymnastics is usually used more in cheerleading, not poms, but it would probably help because you will be flexible which helps with basically everything (leaps, jumps, turns, etc..)!
it all depends on the squad. at some schools, you are required to take dance classes at studio. others you aren't. at rangeview high school, no dance background is required. but at schools like ponderosa, they all go to the same studio and they are very strict, so it just depends on what your coach prefers.

im going to try out for my highschool's poms and i have some some questions, do you need to take dance classes outside of school to make the squad?
I have never taken dance classes but i did do gymnastics would that help?
