@hummingbirdgirl07 REALLY?! wish i would have known that last spring when i found 2 of them in my yard. about as big as a small hamster. i only noticed them because i just saw their tails going through the grass. I like skunks , they are basically a wild ferret than can shoot you lol.

@PanzerBlitz43 oh my mistake, your the "id rather kill myself than eat an animal" type. so your definition of surviving is improving the ecosystem? LOL what planet do you live on!!! what does a cow do to survive? what does a mosquito do to survive? what does a plant do to survive? look at the organism energy pyramid, you'll clearly see that every organism takes in more than they give up. humans have the ability to fix any problem they create, its just the matter of urgency
@brysonwilliams70 sorry but animals have the highest compassion, good sense and wisdom if you start comparing them to human species. The planet is in its last death throes for the first time in a 4 billion year history by out of control human greed and their breeding problem of now 7 billion. Most of the human species are anti-life and too retarded and immoral to do anythihg else than destroy, that's been proved many times .. You're a perfect example :)
@PanzerBlitz43 if im an example of why its dying then your an example of why its already dead. There has been several mass extinctions, If a nuke devastated every square inch of the planet, species would survive. Animals have the greatest compassion and wisdom? LOL!! have u ever seen a cat play with a dead mouse? is that compassion? then days later, when it gets hit by a car, is that wisdom? If it makes you feel good saving animals, good for you, do what makes you happy, life is limited
@brysonwilliams70 early extinctions were not disastrous for earth since there was undamaged ecosystem worldwide & new species to evolve & grow. animals/plants built earth in the last 2 billion years into carefully balanced ecosystem, even oxygen. yes, animals contribute to the environment in spades and don't rape the planet-wisdom. Thinking about & builidng destructive machines is NOT wisdom or intelligence. Unevolved humans mutilated and raped earth in just 200 years-that's stupidity and greed.
@PanzerBlitz43 your the one with the problems against humans, why dont YOU kill yourself? Have u heard about that meteor that came along about 400 million years ago? CO2, O2, and temperature levels have not been the same for 2 billion years, and 4.6 billion years ago earth was as uninhabitable as most other planets, animals adapted, the enviroment didnt balance. Have u heard the phrase knowledge is power? Don't argue animals r smarter than humans, u make a fool out of urself.
@brysonwilliams70 except your knowledge skipped everything past kindergarten. meteor or not there was still an environment that wasn't devastated by humans that's why it could recover.. and climate changes took tens of millions of years. oxygen was slowly introduced into the atmosphere by plants, plankton and microorganisms replacing CO2 it with oxygen. Now humans introduce an extra 16 billion tons of greenhouse gas C02 into the upper atmosphere every year and that excess is NOT being absorbed
@PanzerBlitz43 hypocracy at its max right there!!! Are you saying you live in a box - OH sorry boxes are made from trees. . . Are you saying u live in the open air and eat only plants and every plant you eat you garden a home for new one?! Obviously not because your using a computer. Computers run by electricity which is either generated from coal, natural gas, or nuclear plants. So, as you say, go kill yourself. When u turn on the AC in ur mom's basement aka ur room, how does that work? dumbass
@PanzerBlitz43 your the one so sure that humans are going to destroy the world, so why are you encouraging others to kill themselves? you make absolutely no sense. If your so sure your theory is correct, why dont YOU kill yourself? You bitch just to bitch you talk just to talk, but in reality none of your words are tangible
@brysonwilliams70 let me give an analogy for your simple redneck mind. If you burned down your own house and killed everything and everoyone in it including yourself for a short term profit you would not be called "smart" you would be called insane. That's what humans are doing to the earth. Animals and even plants are therefore smarter than humans and far smarter than you.
@PanzerBlitz43 No no no, killing somebody for a profit is called "desperate". Killing somebody for no reason is called "insane". Killing you would be called a "good deed". You realize that in the event you actually win this little argument, you will be proving yourself wrong and therefore making yourself the loser. Wrap your tiny short-sighted mind about that, then, after u finally consult your vegan, child pampering parents what im talking about, go take a bath with a toaster.
@brysonwilliams70 Yeah I'm one of those bastards with compassion and love in my heart... SUCH a loser. I wouldn't say animals are people, but rather people are animals. We're hard-wired to have intense emotional responses that go hand-in-hand with our more instinctual desires (eg. food, sex, parenting). So if animals are driven by instinct, wouldn't it seem there is more likely than not pleasure/reward responses going on with them as well? Latest science news says animals are rich w/ emotion.
@Discordia5 Well said. Im not a complete nazi bastard who kills anything that isnt identical to myself, so dont get that idea. i just feel people whine just to whine sometimes. They feel the need to support pests because it gives them the feeling of being godlike; having the power to choose anothers fate. There is a gap between animals we help and animals who are pests. We feed and house beneficial animals, and kill the pests. Thus, a skunk is a pest, although their babies look cute.
@brysonwilliams70 I disagree with your theory of "beneficial" animals and "pest" animals. The only difference between the two is in the eye of the beholder, and it would have to take a fairly spiritually void person to take the life of something simply because it has evolved a defense technique that's potentially annoying. It's the age-old question of inherent value: Does each animal's life have it, or only lives belonging to the #1 most intelligent species of animal? Or is it only YOURSELF?
@Discordia5 Every animal has the instinct to promote its species survival. If another creature hinders its ability to survive or live in a peaceful enviroment, it has the right to fight against its agressor. No, i dont believe this is "our planet", but i will kill animals who negatively impact me. You are entitled to your opinion, and i to mine. Dont come whining when ur dog gets rabies from a racoon!
@brysonwilliams70 I just don't see how a skunk is negatively impacting your ability to survive or enjoy your life... Cultural views on animal rights are evolving at speeds unusually fast in terms of societal trends. I don't expect everyone to catch up at the same speed, that's unnatural. Your viewpoint is probably the one held by the most people in the realm of written history. I can't expect everyone to respond immediately.
@Discordia5 my dad had to put a dog down because it got bitten by a skunk that had rabies. i smell a skunk like once every 2 weeks, i can handle that, but the fear of getting bit by a rabid mammal scares the shit out of me i guess. ive been chased by 3 rabid skunks, not fuckin fun man ill tell u that much
@brysonwilliams70 Now I understand the personal vendetta, I really was not aware there were areas overrun with skunks and rabies to that degree. It's easy for me to say that I would not respond in the way you have, but no one can predict how something traumatic will affect them, so I won't pretend to. There seems to be a huge gap in how animals are viewed among rural vs. city/suburban people, and your story is example of how it happens. Still, it is sad to lose reverence and respect for nature.
@Discordia5 Yah... But hey look, in the distant future the skunks will have no more stink glands, and all the more cute pets to our collection! I personally want a coon =P
@brysonwilliams70 Well... that's not really the way evolution works, but I'll work with ya... and I don't see any funding for skunk genetic engineering anytime soon, but it is a scientific fact that that was the cutest idea I've had run through my mind in days. That's so cool that you can know a raccoon, it suddenly makes me painfully jealous that I don't live in the country. Does he like you too?
@Discordia5 Sadly no, racoons are mean as hell in the wild. I see him every now and again and i leave him scraps often. . . damn coyotes steal it most of the time tho!!! Only way id touch a racoon is if i found it as a baby and raised it, then maybe i wont lose fingers playing with it. they grow to the size of a medium dog. . .and they have little hands
@brysonwilliams70 BUT THEY'RE SO CUTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! AAAAAAAH! Anyway, but yeah, my mom tells me all the time that she sees raccoons the size of dogs- but I agree with you- raising one from birth would turn out very nicely. ^.^
@brysonwilliams70 No.. Raccoons make HORRIBLE HORRIBLE pets. They are incredibly destructive and will never respect you. They are mean and typically don't want anything to do with you unless you give it something it wants. Raccoons naturally don't even bond with each other, so don't expect them to bond with people.
@mywingsareyours Well i dont care they are fking cool and smart. teach it to steal my neighbors fruit so i dont have to feed it, just have it come around to freakin play with
@brysonwilliams70 So despite the fact that this person just told you that they don't want to have anything to do with you and doesn't like to bond with people, you expect it to want to come over to your house every day and "freakin play" with you?
Please, leave the raccoons alone. They'll be safer that way. -_-
@brysonwilliams70 I've found that any animal that spreads hair throughout my house, defecates and urinates on my carpet, makes random noises, and destroys the curtains, walls, trim, or carpet.....is a pest. Therefore dogs and cats are pests. So what "beneficial" pet are you talking about?
@Biophily Dogs and such are social animals, they're benefits outweigh the costs. If your pet is trained, the only problem youd have to worry about is hair, then again if you get a short haired dog, all the better.
weres my brother you better bring him back or or I will let you smell this buddy lol good video I want a skunk but my wife one let me I want it as a gard skunk for my shop that way if some one wants to steal something they might see him and think twice lol . or at least be a easy way for the cops to find who broke in my home lol just from the smell lol.
I have 2 pet "chocolate" skunks (black and whites are illegal in my state). They hardly ever make noise as they get older so it is so cute to watch the babies at this stage!
besides, according to the info these babies are going to be released back into the wild, so i'd assume they haven't been de-scented anyway.

So if animals are driven by instinct, wouldn't it seem there is more likely than not pleasure/reward responses going on with them as well? Latest science news says animals are rich w/ emotion.
Discordia5 1 year ago
@Discordia5 Well said. Im not a complete nazi bastard who kills anything that isnt identical to myself, so dont get that idea. i just feel people whine just to whine sometimes. They feel the need to support pests because it gives them the feeling of being godlike; having the power to choose anothers fate. There is a gap between animals we help and animals who are pests. We feed and house beneficial animals, and kill the pests. Thus, a skunk is a pest, although their babies look cute.
brysonwilliams70 1 year ago
@brysonwilliams70 I disagree with your theory of "beneficial" animals and "pest" animals. The only difference between the two is in the eye of the beholder, and it would have to take a fairly spiritually void person to take the life of something simply because it has evolved a defense technique that's potentially annoying. It's the age-old question of inherent value: Does each animal's life have it, or only lives belonging to the #1 most intelligent species of animal? Or is it only YOURSELF?
Discordia5 1 year ago
@Discordia5 Every animal has the instinct to promote its species survival. If another creature hinders its ability to survive or live in a peaceful enviroment, it has the right to fight against its agressor. No, i dont believe this is "our planet", but i will kill animals who negatively impact me. You are entitled to your opinion, and i to mine. Dont come whining when ur dog gets rabies from a racoon!
brysonwilliams70 1 year ago
@brysonwilliams70 I just don't see how a skunk is negatively impacting your ability to survive or enjoy your life... Cultural views on animal rights are evolving at speeds unusually fast in terms of societal trends. I don't expect everyone to catch up at the same speed, that's unnatural. Your viewpoint is probably the one held by the most people in the realm of written history. I can't expect everyone to respond immediately.
Discordia5 1 year ago
@Discordia5 my dad had to put a dog down because it got bitten by a skunk that had rabies. i smell a skunk like once every 2 weeks, i can handle that, but the fear of getting bit by a rabid mammal scares the shit out of me i guess. ive been chased by 3 rabid skunks, not fuckin fun man ill tell u that much
brysonwilliams70 1 year ago
@brysonwilliams70 Now I understand the personal vendetta, I really was not aware there were areas overrun with skunks and rabies to that degree. It's easy for me to say that I would not respond in the way you have, but no one can predict how something traumatic will affect them, so I won't pretend to. There seems to be a huge gap in how animals are viewed among rural vs. city/suburban people, and your story is example of how it happens. Still, it is sad to lose reverence and respect for nature.
Discordia5 1 year ago
@Discordia5 Yah... But hey look, in the distant future the skunks will have no more stink glands, and all the more cute pets to our collection! I personally want a coon =P
brysonwilliams70 1 year ago
@brysonwilliams70 I'm sorry I don't understand... why won't skunks have scent glands? Do raccoons make good pets? They are such goofballs, how fun.
Discordia5 1 year ago
@Discordia5 all the ones that smell bad will get shot or genetic engineering... ya me and my coon the rascals of the neighborhood!
brysonwilliams70 1 year ago
@brysonwilliams70 Well... that's not really the way evolution works, but I'll work with ya... and I don't see any funding for skunk genetic engineering anytime soon, but it is a scientific fact that that was the cutest idea I've had run through my mind in days. That's so cool that you can know a raccoon, it suddenly makes me painfully jealous that I don't live in the country. Does he like you too?
Discordia5 1 year ago
@Discordia5 Sadly no, racoons are mean as hell in the wild. I see him every now and again and i leave him scraps often. . . damn coyotes steal it most of the time tho!!! Only way id touch a racoon is if i found it as a baby and raised it, then maybe i wont lose fingers playing with it. they grow to the size of a medium dog. . .and they have little hands
brysonwilliams70 1 year ago
@brysonwilliams70 BUT THEY'RE SO CUTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! AAAAAAAH! Anyway, but yeah, my mom tells me all the time that she sees raccoons the size of dogs- but I agree with you- raising one from birth would turn out very nicely. ^.^
maddisullens 1 year ago
@brysonwilliams70 No.. Raccoons make HORRIBLE HORRIBLE pets. They are incredibly destructive and will never respect you. They are mean and typically don't want anything to do with you unless you give it something it wants. Raccoons naturally don't even bond with each other, so don't expect them to bond with people.
mywingsareyours 1 year ago
@mywingsareyours Well i dont care they are fking cool and smart. teach it to steal my neighbors fruit so i dont have to feed it, just have it come around to freakin play with
brysonwilliams70 1 year ago
@brysonwilliams70 So despite the fact that this person just told you that they don't want to have anything to do with you and doesn't like to bond with people, you expect it to want to come over to your house every day and "freakin play" with you?
Please, leave the raccoons alone. They'll be safer that way. -_-
luv4manga 1 year ago
@brysonwilliams70 I've found that any animal that spreads hair throughout my house, defecates and urinates on my carpet, makes random noises, and destroys the curtains, walls, trim, or carpet.....is a pest. Therefore dogs and cats are pests. So what "beneficial" pet are you talking about?
Biophily 1 year ago
@Biophily Dogs and such are social animals, they're benefits outweigh the costs. If your pet is trained, the only problem youd have to worry about is hair, then again if you get a short haired dog, all the better.

I have 2 pet "chocolate" skunks (black and whites are illegal in my state). They hardly ever make noise as they get older so it is so cute to watch the babies at this stage!
