Chapters 4 and 5 make my heart hurt, which is very difficult for this intellectual person....thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It would seem that "degrees of righteousness" is another man-made aberration.
If "lukewarm Christian" is an oxymoron, how do we describe someone like Lot compared to Abraham? Lot is repeatedly described by St Peter as being righteous, so both were saints, despite their differences.
Besides, can't lukewarmness be indicative of indwelling sin or lack of discipline in the born-again person, rather than necessarily being symptomatic of the unregenerated person? God disciplines those he loves; the rebuke to those in Laodecia may have been discipline of his saints there?
thanks for sharing this message. It is so paramount yet we really tend to turn our backs on that, pretending there is a loophole in the Bible that you can be saved without full commitment to Christ. It is my prayer that we are all true to God and ourselves.
Thanks for saying what seems to be to challenging for any other pastor I've heard to say. We've been using your book for our small bible study and I haven't been awakened to Gods word before like I have through your book.
