Ha! It's Patterson's dad!... awesome. What a great sound those guys had back then. Love watching the Stones vid Gimme Shelter, with all the footage from Muscle Shoals. Watching the band listen to the playback of Wild Horses is priceless.
stevetheutugeek: me too...I'd love to see & hear more on that...I wonder (wish) there was a DVD of the Muscle Shoals cats talking about their heyday in the 60s and ealy 70s. Reminds me of Booker T and the MGs at Stax/Volt- guitarist Steve Cropper, bass player Donald "Duck" Dunn, drummer Al Jackson (who died tragically in a roberry), and, of course, Booker T. Anyone seen that great documentary about Tom Dowd? Look for it!
Now that's cool. Wish it'd gone on a little longer. About 13 years ago, Roger Hawkins took Barry Richman, and I out to dinner while we were mixing Barry's first cd at Muscle Shoals. Man, you talk about being like a couple of kids listening to grandpa's war stories!! Such history--and Roger loves tellng Duane stories, if you ever meet him. A great guy. Didn't get to know David Hood, unfortunately.
Duane is still my hero...and I'm 52!

Duane lived in a little cabin by a nearby lake while he was working in Muscle Shoals; I wonder if it's still there?
