Not relaxing the hair bone straight, meaning not leaving the relaxer on long enough, some play chemist by adding conditioner to the relaxer, kinda scares me...but to each his own
Hi. I am a hair stylist and I hadn't realized that I had been texlaxing my hair. By accident for the last 5 months, I haven't had a relaxer. No one can even tell cuz I have been blowdrying it with the brush and flat ironning my hair. It still looks relaxed. I guess I'm going natural now...it's so funny because that was not my intention. it's just that I am so busy that I put myself last and I had been neglecting relaxing my hair. Oh well...I guess I'll enjoy my journey without the big chop. Lol
Hi, I transitioning back to natural and my problem is that I'm not doing a big chop I'm cutting it off little by little and I was wondering if all the relaxed hair will be gone an will me roots in the front and back become curly soft and relaxed as the rest of my hair because its kinda rough now.
@Byakuyalovelornsoul yes, literally that's some of what you do. BUT- u need to pay more attention to your hair- it could be stressful but worth it in the end!
I've been natural for 14 months and am seriously considering heat training my natural hair to help loosen my curl pattern for manageability. The key for me is healthy, chemical free hair...regardless of the method!
Beautiful journey & congrats on your decision to go natural! I only transitioned for 3 months; seriously couldn't deal w/ the texture differences. Detangling became a BEAST! I'm glad you have found a formula that works for you!! :-)
Hey, just wanna let you know that your hair is absolutly beautiful. I my self would like to achieve the same type of healthy hair, however iv just literally this week decided to begin my transition due to the relaxer causing my hair to become thin. However i was a lil skeptical as i didnt know if this method was ideal as instead of relaxing i would be flat ironing. Please comment, thankyou!! :)
I am thinking about going natural but deathly afraid; when i need a perm my hair waves up and the longer I go the deeper the waves get....OH and did I mention my hair is thick as I dont know what!!!....WHAT MIGHT YOU SUGGEST?
@olemell i have natural hair thats really thick, don't be afraid of that. I transitioned for about 9 months before chopping off my relaxed hair. I used braids and weaves along with protective styling to grow my hair. once you get used to managing and detangling your hair it gets easier. You've made a good start by looking at videos on here and look on hair care forums for tips and product. Trial and error is the key to this whole natural hair journey, testing out products is the only way.
congrats on your transition! i transitioned for about a year before i chopped my relaxed ends on august 4, 2009. i've been 100% natural since then and i lvoe it! i hope you do too! :)
@llance343&thetoristeve texlax is when you purposely apply relaxer under the recommended time it leaves some of your natural texture which gives you fuller styles and helps with managing your new growth
Great progress. Its grown a lot. U should do slme natural styles like a twist out or bantu knot. also be careful and put a shirt on nxt time u really don't wanna post pics of u in Ur underwear for youtube. What's wrong w a t shirt? Just my opinion.
@TheToristeve a texlax is when u only leave the relaxer on for a little bit so that it doesnt make it completely straight leaves ur curls looser or wavey
loving the texture of ur hair.....i hv been using aphogee shampoo for damaged hair and i thnk tht its served it purpose(b.c. my hair isnt really damaged anymore) and i hv been looking for a nu shampoo...do the keracare for dry n itchy scalp hv the feel it formula?
@chanale2102 i use the hydrating shampoo by kera kare but its the old formula in the white bottle. Its soooo damn moisturizing serves me better than a co wash i used in when i was relaxed, transitioning and now i use it that im natural. Its the bizzness! lol check it out
@Lovher989 How did you get it so long ? i mean the first pic you showed was quite short but by the end of the video, when you were brushing your hair, it was much longer. how did you get it that long ? x
wow your hair is making moves girl!!! im happy for you and your transition!!!! you turned me on to long term relationship lol i ends (and hair) thank you for sharing LOL love that stuff!!! thanks!!!
Gorgeous! Can't wait to see how long it will be next year in April...Your Long Term Relationship moisturizer that you suggested works wonders for me and my 3 children! We are all natural and I've been looking for a product that helped with my dry ends and girl it did it! Before I saw your review on it I literally went to Sallys and started buying all kinds of products to help - I put about 7 products in and they didn't do nothing! I saw your video about that product - Thanks for your Videos!

Btw, Be careful with the flat ironning. It can damage your natrual curl pattern.
