The nuclear war won't happen in December. December 21st 2012 9:21pm - that is when the first human steps foot out into the barren world.
The bombs will drop at 1:13pm on October 14th 2012. I'm not able to change the timeline in anyway. But I can save your life at least. Be prepared for fallout, it will block the sun for two months. Make sure you have food, radiation medication - and don't leave your home, also try to make it airtight. Goodbye.
@jamesspec2010 yes thanks, I have spent many hours learning the subject of survival.. not saying im a pro, but i know enough to be safe in a bug out situation.
@dreamdiction No guns in the UK. Not unless you own land or have a good reason to own a gun, (shotguns, small cal rifles). Crossbows are still legal here i think. I would suggest having one as a replacment for a firearm, if you are that way enclined.
Nice Video, Thanks for sharing this, it is a good starter kit, however If your selling these as a BOB for a person to use in an emergency, ask yourself would you really trust your life in some of that gear...
A pack of Hexi tabs last on average 24 hrs, Most BOBs are designed for 72 hrs, you may want to add another 2 Boxes, some toilet paper, Life just sucks without it, swap the bin bags for some rubble bags they are more heavy duty and will last longer,
i think you could do that for around 40 quid without the survival tin.but you could through one together for about 10 quid anyway so all round 50 rubs...how much you charging?
Sleeping mat?, LOL, RUFF IT ffs, its weight you dont need to carry.
there is some worthwhile items in this selection and you do have the right idea of a "bug out bag" being small, because if/when you do need to GTFO in under 5minutes, then this size of bag is very managable.
But for the price, I'd have a totally different set of items, and you REALLY need a decent sized sharp knife for self defence, a blackend steel knife is the best option.
@clitmint Mate I can tell you from experience unless you are fortunate enough to find somewhere with soft ground and VERY springy grass, you NEED a sleeping mat. An alternative is to use something like LOTS of grass under your sleeping bag, but it's hard work
The green one in this video is the better of the 2 types most commonly sold in the UK
Just 2 nights without a sleeping mat will give you SERIOUS back/limb problems, trust me! They're really light so hardly a weight consideration.

@jezzafox your right. it is over priced. mostly because im paying retail price for each item, plus adding a small 10% profit margin (whiich equals about £20 per bag, but then i loose all this profit when posting the bag to the customer so i actuley make nothing.), also, as you have realised im not a big company with millions of pounds to spend on advertising either. But i will be updating these videos soon and i appreaciate your input and concerns. thanks.
This bag is garbage. I hope nobody even considers buying this, ive seen those mats and the stove at dollarama. The only good thing in this entire kit is the bag itself.
@TheBugoutbag i been doing this stuff since i was a kid. where as you set up your "thebugoutbag" youtube account last month and think you can do a better job! You only have one video on your account and its a music video!!! go check my playlists & see the 200+ subscribers i have and tell me which of us knows more about bugging out.. in fact dont bother, im already wasting my time argueing with you.
@SwitchUpBroadcast Ya i may have set up my channel last month, but ive been involved in bug out bags, disaster survival preparedness and Survival preparedness for several years. Do you have a Certificate for advanced wilderness survival i dont think so. This account is just for Bug out bag related stuff. Ya you have 200 subscribers. @TheBugoutbag i was in a bad mood when i answerd that, apologies. but if you dont want one dont buy one. fact is some people would perfer to have one of these bags if SHTF. the bag provides for the five main basic needs of survival; water, food, fire, shelter, and medical care. True, this bag may not be up to the standards of some survivalists, but then some people cant afford to pay £500+ for a bag they may never have to use.
I'd probably stay well clear of ordering this r?~bbish if i were you guys. this guy is trying to make some easy money from people who have no clue, and that = a money grubbing P>>ck...you could buy this rubbish for a fraction of the money
Woow just under £200 ? , bcb survival kit £10 , sleeping bag £10 , the mat £2.99 argos , hexi cooker £5 , hexi blocks £2.99 , luminem master light £12 , wind up light £10 , foil survival bag £5 , mess tins £7 , para cord army standard 50ft £6.99 2 x food kits (army standard) £7.99 ech , foil blankets i get free in nhs , marker pen £1 insect repellant £3 = £92 ? plus you could get a proper burgen army issue for £40 , alot cheaper than this vid man , there my local prices around cardiff =)
see the other videos and youl see what else is in the bag. you didnt take into account the first aid kit, nor all the postage costs i paid to have the items deliverd to me, or what it costs for me to post and pack the bag to the customer (the bag is quite heeavy!) or the very small ammount of profit i make on each bag...
yes, you can source everything yourself, but what if you dont have the time to source all the contents yourslef? then you talk tome
@BugoutSurvival Hey man its no diss to the video , great vid ! , i was just saying , i do like your concept though and this vid is great for beginners and even if it was £150- 200 and i was a beginner id buy it , i do love that bag though lol !
@TheRedline161 wow, i paid...guess what....less than £10 for my BOB. Although most of my contents, I already had lying around the house. Almost none of it was bought purposely for a BOB.
Maybe I was just fortunate in that I already had most of the neccesities...
@Marktheshtfgenius Yea i wanst really being rude its just im into alot of outdoor stuff myself and especially in my new job , half the items in this specific video are the standard pocket money stuff :/ .. i have no problem with good cheap deals but if your purposley going out on expeditions / situations to call it 'survival' the last thing you want is the basic of basic cheap kit -i love homemade bob's btw very usefull for weekend breaks etc and last minute trips =)
I'm amazed how many survival packs lack Deet. Other than my own, your's is the first I've seen that includes it. No one seems to think they'll be in the woods in the middle of Summer . . . When the insects are out & about and hungry for human skin.
hi there i'm new to bushcraft and am about to attempt to make my own survival kit or bob and any helpful information would be greatly appreciated thanks i'm from scotland btw
if anyone can point me in the direction of any vids or people in the uk who do this for real i would be very happy.in usa they shoot deer etc,i still have a pot noodle lol....i need guiding lol
One item I never seen in bug out bag vids is a water bottle with a built in filter, you can drink river water or pond water with these things and not get sick. Go on Amazon and search for "DrinkSafe" to see the range of bottles and spare filters. To me this is THE most essential item for any bug out bag. The Red Cross use them in disaster zones. Good luck buddy.
Just so you know, those little squeezy torches don't actually recharge the batteries.
I have bought a few and dismantled one. The batteries are standard button cells and the electronics are not wired up to charge them (nor could they). I was really disappointed as it seems such a good design for the price. But I will be working on a little modification to make it actually rechargable
that green mat sticks out like a sour thumb not good for evasion better pack some heat also get a gun even if you live in the uk get one from the streets the end is near
the bag alone is worth £60. plus i dont think your taking into account p&p. £200 is a fair price, there is aslo a FAK included in the bag which is not shown in this video, see the other video for the contents of the FAK.
@agun17 .. Dude, i think he's from England and if i'm not mistaken they are not allowed to own guns over there except with with special permission. He's doing his best to utilize that molle bag to suit his need. Bro, just because this is an assault pack don't mean you have to stuff a fricking gun or and an assault rifle in it.
Hell, i go camping/hiking with a molle bag all the time here in the USA and never once did i have a weapon in it.
It is just an all around useful and well built bag.
finally, a bug out bag made by a down to earth, british person, nice to see this, instead of an american obsessing about wheres he`s gonna put his 500 rounds of ammo and buck knife, back up bucknife, back up back up buck kife and folding knife... breath of fresh air mate :)
I will no longer be replying to comments such as "where would you go", "why would you need one", or similar. It is a waste of my time. If you do not see a reason to own a BOB, or have no idea what they are used for then this video is not for you. I suggest you do some research before making your comment. Thanks for the 12,000 views. please see my playlists for more survival info :)
You should watch my 3 part video series on the 5 C's of survival...a new way of thinking about the basic survival needs broken down into some very simple concepts.
sorry guy's but I dont get why you pome's are selling a kit like this unless your extreme outbound! small country with 68 million people in it, never 20mins away from another person. ray mears you have a lot to answer for hahahahahahahahahaha! get a life or join the scouts.
It is the only manual water purification system that can make fresh water from sea water OR urine. If you live near the coast, how will you get fresh water? Set up a huge distillation system to lick condensation off plastic? That's for suckers.
The Katadyn Survivor will allow you to extend your limited water supply. 1 gallon a day goes fast, BUT if you can use reverse osmosis to pump fresh water out of contaminated water... you can live longer.
you said when we buy it from you weel have it new yet you didnt say how much it will cost and i would like to purchase one from you after you give me the price i would get yiou u send me it in england (kent ) please contact me back on the price of it
Hi, thanks for the reply. I just wanted to know if you had a real life situation in mind, and it seems you don't. In most of the situations you cover, I would rather have a proper rucksack full of useful gear (you can only carry one at once), and if the H1N1 virus did break out, where would you go with this bag? Wherever you went, the virus would be there too. Terrorism was also just too lame to be true. Go go to a relatives out the way, and stay in a house. Just thought I would ask!
true, but as i say. its more of a US thing for this type of bag. Other survival bags i will be stocking soon include a bag for hikers that contains items to aid survival if they get lost, a bag for mountain bikers for the same reason, a bag for pilots in case of an emergency landing in a remote area, and a bag for cars in the event of a breakdown in a remote area. these bags/ packs enable the buyer to give them self heat, food, water, and shelter in the event of an emergency.
Where did you get the assault rifle bag? because that would be handy for when i play survival airsoft. We go in teams across the country with only the things in out bags and head off from either sides of a 3-4 mile spread and have an epic airsoft battle.
I Have to say your Hexi stove IS upside down... After 8 years in the Army I should know, Also the hexi blocks stove insde the stove for a smaller kit, you can also get a metal mug adaptor for the hexi stove, this fits the issued metal mug perfectly, stick in a metal mug and loose the mess tins. I didn't see a water bottle in your kit. add a lighter, it will be a worthy addition, it will make lighting your hexi blocks much easier
@DieUSuperMonkeyFuck The Hexie stove is upside down in the video, the spikes dont go into the grass and Hexi Tabs are very easy to light and thats why the military use them. Its a great little survival cooker that I have used an awful lot.
@DieUSuperMonkeyFuck ,,,,,,,,break up your hexy tabs into fine dust and slithers with a little jutetwine or natural tinder improvised tinder, and it will light no problem, yeah he did have the hexy stv wrong way up,and apart from not having a battery in his torch (with spares).he didnt know the name of a crank torch for at least a min, ther were some good ideas but the begout survival is obviously an enthusiast but not an expert ,not to the standard of selling as a B.O.B,
Im not sure what you mean by not up to standard, all the kit is army issue or reliable "wilderness tools", i dont have the money for fancy advertising, nor can i afford to buy all goods at wholesale price. But once if i can get the funding, i will have better advertising/ videos, and will be able to buy the bags at wholesale price, making the price lower for customers. But this will not be for several months. As i say the bags are in promo stage. thanks for looking
Hi, if i ignore the silly comments on your hexi stove etc, can you just give one or two 'real life' situations' where this bag would be of any use whatsoever? I do realise almost all folks who use this type of thing would never use it (and only play at things), but as a professional survival/bush craft instructor (and ex army) I cannot think of one situation where this would help at all.
I'm happy to hear your comments on where you think this could be used in the UK.
War, terrorism, natural or man made disasters, floods, hurricanes, quick evacuation for whatever reason, 2012, bio-terrorism. The bag is just to be on the safe side.
The bag is an insurance polocy. you could carry one in your car if you travled through remote places often, just in case you broke down or whatever.
not so much a big thing here as in the US, but people want to be prepared. Imagine if the H1N1 started killing thousands, this bag would allow you to leave quickly.

With all the options for gear here in the states one can easily overpack and have a bunch of useless items. It's good to see how the minimalists do it. Remember, you're surviving, not moving your house. Thanks for the post!
there are, And as for the options i have seen both in the UK and "across the pond" in the US are badley put together bags that would proove practicly useless in a bug out situation.
My bags contain all quality items. prooven and tested in survival situations. I will be supplying bags to a US dealer soon if you are intrested.
That bag is exclusive to the Bugout range. They are very high quality and durable, it also has MOLLE attachments to carry extra kit, FAK, slingshot, food, etc.
Don't take this the wrong way as I mean it constructively:
For a "kit" this seems very incomplete. Also you stated that you have not used every item. If you are going to sell this you should demonstrate that it adequately covers the survivor's needs (over a 72 hour period if touting it as a 72 hour kit). Also it would be good if you can demonstrate the quality of each item (again by using it and putting it through it's paces).Cont...
I could source all of the individual items that make up this kit for less than £135 in under 5 minutes and that is being fair since I went with the average price of each item and not the cheapest. Convenience is not even a factor here since what you are offering is not an all in one solution. If you are going to charge £200 demonstrate that what you are offering is a complete starter kit suited to your target market which I presume is the inexperienced survivor.
Ensure that each and every item is decent quality and highly durable. Inspire confidence in your product by using it under testing conditions and demonstrating the quality and the usefulness of every single item. Personally I wouldn't entertain the idea of buying a kit unless it was proven to meet all of my needs and was made up entirely of items which I was positive I could rely on and it would have to be very good value for what I paid for it.
I realize you stated that you will be upgrading this kit but there appears to be no video of the new one so I can only comment on what I have seen. I hope my comments don't seem to harsh.
Great stuff!!! I Made my own BOB from 2 other bags. It took weeks but it is designed to carry my compound bow (I don't have a gun YET cause I need a license here in canada.) and other Items. I have a military fanny pack with night vision, and radios and other stuff. I don't have a sleeping mat cause I think It's bulky but then again even my night vision monocular is bulky. Pack light, travel light.
despite the other peoples comments I liked your vid. alsos I understand that the idea was to show the stuff not to explain how to use it. If a person can't find 1-2 20oz soda bottoles lying around something has gone way to wrong. I love the mole bag I have a couple of different kinds but yours seems better than mine. The green survival tin is nice to. Good vid. 5/5
I double up on essentials, one may run out of battries, so I included the wind up as a backup.
there is a firesteel, and the option to add a magnisum fire starter as well if needed, there are also waterproof matches included. these will be displayed in the updated UK bug out kit video.
I realise the stove is upside down, I have not had the chance to use them much. again, This will be corrected on the future video.
I'm sorry, you obviously dont understand. I shall explain more clearly for you to understand better.
there is now a poncho included, this video was of the un-finished BOB, it is now finished and a new video will be uploaded with the extra contents soon. (first aid kit, lightstick, poncho, etc)
I cannot sell knives as part of my BOB yet, i need a licence, we advise you buy your own knife and attach it yourself to the MOLLE rig yourself.
There are 2 pockets either side of the BOB where you can put 2 small coke sized bottles filled up with water, or whatever, so a canteen or flask would be un-nessesary, and cost more. but there will be the option to add one if the buyer wanted to.
Lastly, the £200 cost of the bug out bag is VERY CHEAP. considering every item and the bag iteslf cost me personally up to £180. You could always source everything yourself and end up paying more for postage if you like??
Yeah someone else mentioned that. It just looks like the wavey bit should be pointed at the ground to keep it secure, But it makes more sence to not have the hexy blocks on the floor.
Nice BOB Nathan, you might wana stick a couple of cheap bits in your kit that i have in my EDC. Check out my EDC vid if you want.Great vid mate keep up the good work.
good vid mate ,keep collecting and make it soon as i think the world is heading for trouble, get yourself some sort of folding saw ,and a good airifle, also make room for water carryers and more food
I come from the future.
Everyone is deadly wrong.

HOLLY SHIT! What ammo?
agun17 1 year ago
It is just an all around useful and well built bag.

what does bug out bag mean
biddycy 1 year ago
@biddycy Bug out bag means it's a bag to keep the bugs out ;) j/k
It's an emergency, last minute bag which you just grab and get the hell out of Dodge and lay low for awhile when the SHTF (shit hits the fan).
example: Katrina situation in New Orleans, Louisiana USA a few years ago where mayhem, lawlessness, looting, murder, and disorder were prevalent.
'Bug out' means 'to lay low or disappear'. A 'bug out bag' is a bag you rely on for survival when the SHTF.

Get a Katadyn Survivor 35
It is the only manual water purification system that can make fresh water from sea water OR urine. If you live near the coast, how will you get fresh water? Set up a huge distillation system to lick condensation off plastic? That's for suckers.
The Katadyn Survivor will allow you to extend your limited water supply. 1 gallon a day goes fast, BUT if you can use reverse osmosis to pump fresh water out of contaminated water... you can live longer.

Just thought I would ask!
raynkar 1 year ago
@raynkar
true, but as i say. its more of a US thing for this type of bag. Other survival bags i will be stocking soon include a bag for hikers that contains items to aid survival if they get lost, a bag for mountain bikers for the same reason, a bag for pilots in case of an emergency landing in a remote area, and a bag for cars in the event of a breakdown in a remote area. these bags/ packs enable the buyer to give them self heat, food, water, and shelter in the event of an emergency.
slimpickinzz 1 year ago
Where did you get the assault rifle bag? because that would be handy for when i play survival airsoft. We go in teams across the country with only the things in out bags and head off from either sides of a 3-4 mile spread and have an epic airsoft battle.
RapidPEW 1 year ago
I Have to say your Hexi stove IS upside down... After 8 years in the Army I should know, Also the hexi blocks stove insde the stove for a smaller kit, you can also get a metal mug adaptor for the hexi stove, this fits the issued metal mug perfectly, stick in a metal mug and loose the mess tins. I didn't see a water bottle in your kit. add a lighter, it will be a worthy addition, it will make lighting your hexi blocks much easier
But on the whole a good video well done

Im not sure what you mean by not up to standard, all the kit is army issue or reliable "wilderness tools", i dont have the money for fancy advertising, nor can i afford to buy all goods at wholesale price. But once if i can get the funding, i will have better advertising/ videos, and will be able to buy the bags at wholesale price, making the price lower for customers. But this will not be for several months. As i say the bags are in promo stage. thanks for looking
BugoutSurvival 1 year ago
@BugoutSurvival
I'm happy to hear your comments on where you think this could be used in the UK.
raynkar 1 year ago
@raynkar

BoeMech 1 year ago
Dude good luck with your endeavors - it just seems like there are more options for bugging out here "across the pond."
1000meterstare 1 year ago
there are, And as for the options i have seen both in the UK and "across the pond" in the US are badley put together bags that would proove practicly useless in a bug out situation.
My bags contain all quality items. prooven and tested in survival situations. I will be supplying bags to a US dealer soon if you are intrested.

rodster6 2 years ago
Don't take this the wrong way as I mean it constructively:
For a "kit" this seems very incomplete. Also you stated that you have not used every item. If you are going to sell this you should demonstrate that it adequately covers the survivor's needs (over a 72 hour period if touting it as a 72 hour kit). Also it would be good if you can demonstrate the quality of each item (again by using it and putting it through it's paces).Cont...
pissytrousers 2 years ago
I could source all of the individual items that make up this kit for less than £135 in under 5 minutes and that is being fair since I went with the average price of each item and not the cheapest. Convenience is not even a factor here since what you are offering is not an all in one solution. If you are going to charge £200 demonstrate that what you are offering is a complete starter kit suited to your target market which I presume is the inexperienced survivor.
pissytrousers 2 years ago
Ensure that each and every item is decent quality and highly durable. Inspire confidence in your product by using it under testing conditions and demonstrating the quality and the usefulness of every single item. Personally I wouldn't entertain the idea of buying a kit unless it was proven to meet all of my needs and was made up entirely of items which I was positive I could rely on and it would have to be very good value for what I paid for it.
pissytrousers 2 years ago
I realize you stated that you will be upgrading this kit but there appears to be no video of the new one so I can only comment on what I have seen. I hope my comments don't seem to harsh.
Best Regards

Nah i appreacite the feedback.
end of the day if it will help people i will consider adding it to my bags.

excellent video. Too bad you cant add a rifle on your side of the pond. In a bug out, they are worth their weight in gold. Great video!

AnotherAlexChannel 2 years ago
despite the other peoples comments I liked your vid. alsos I understand that the idea was to show the stuff not to explain how to use it.

Thanks

No poncho, water container or knife/tool . This bob is useless. Not worth 200 guy.
leestephenj 2 years ago
@leestephenj
I'm sorry, you obviously dont understand. I shall explain more clearly for you to understand better.
there is now a poncho included, this video was of the un-finished BOB, it is now finished and a new video will be uploaded with the extra contents soon. (first aid kit, lightstick, poncho, etc)
I cannot sell knives as part of my BOB yet, i need a licence, we advise you buy your own knife and attach it yourself to the MOLLE rig yourself.
slimpickinzz 2 years ago
@slimpickinzz
You could always source everything yourself and end up paying more for postage if you like??
slimpickinzz 2 years ago
Did you not see the yellow poncho he picks up and states what it was. watch the vid again and pay attention this time.
