  • Hi, I just came across this recipe but I was wondering how long I can store it in the fridge.I am a college student living way far from home and really don't have much time to cook every day. So I was just looking around some healthy all nutrient food easy to cook and cost efficient.

  • @bassbaba2000 The bean salad should stay fresh in an air tight container for up to 5 days. Hope you like it.

  • I would like to try this!!! :) Can this be the main dish for dinner??? I am trying to not eat meat. Thanks.

  • how about adding avacado, organic pitted olives? can i use steamed corn since i do not own a bbq.

  • :P

  • You're the first person I met that does not peel and seed tomatoes. I was waiting for someone to mention this!

  • Try it and let us know.

  • it looks good, I think I would be nicer with some lemon or lime juice and some chopped cilantro!

  • If you check historical data, one of the ways it was spelled was "Kamoon" and pronounced like that. I'm glad YOU say it like that, too!

  • @RecipeCook we pronounce it "Kum-moon" here; I'm from Kuwait :)

  • @RecipeCook

is kamoon an arabic word or something?

  • @akram1985 yeh:S it is i wish ai can help but i dont noe wat its called in english.

  • WOW, someone finally said Cumin the way i know it :) I am Egyptian and i live in the US,and i love cooking, when i start asking about Cumin people used to say to me, "What??"...:) i felt embarrassed and stopped looking for it till in i learned how to say it lol

Great salad by the way, and your food is healthy. thank you and have a great day :)

  • seniora le falto limon (lime)

  • I had extra salad greens and instead of putting this in a bowl, I put it on a platter on top of the greens. Even better!

  • Try cider or clear vinegar.

  • hi we don't have red wine vingar or white wine vingar what can i use instead

  • It's a fave here.

  • Now I'm so hungry after watching this. I love the grilled corn. :)

  • Simply a big Thanks.

  • hım that's a good idea

  • First, you can divide it in half - go to taste. Make the dressing and don't dress the salad until you're ready to eat it. You can dress as little or as much as you want. The dressing keeps up to a couple weeks; the salad sans the dressing at least 4-5 days.

  • How long can you keep the salad in the fridge? cos i live a lone and I would not mind doing this...Thank you

  • Great tip for getting all the corn.

  • i like your Kitchen ! (;

  • Soups and salads can help you to lose weight

  • thx thx :)

  • great video

  • @sandiegosalads Glad you liked it. ~Rita

  • @RecipeCook i did this last night but added mint>>>>>>>>>>> so yummy

  • @lovekillsbeware Sounds great. Glad you liked it!

  • @lovekillsbeware Damn dat look good!

  • merci bq

  • ِAmazing . Thank u very much !

  • Good video.

I think first cold press is different than extra virgin. According to Paul Pitchford of Healing with Whole Foods, extra virgin means a certain grade of olive oil was used and it can be the ones that are over ripe. Extra virgin is less important than first cold press. Quality olive oil will note on the label "first cold press". I also recommend getting unfiltered olive oil for health benefits.

  • wow i will definetley try it tonight but red whine vinegar like i cant use that for religious reasons so is there a subsitute pleaz telll!!! thnxx

  • @michelle432110 Try cider vinegar or rice vinegar (not rice wine vinegar). The rice vinegar will be a bit more mellow. Rita from AboutEating.

  • @RecipeCook I will try the rice vinegar; thou it is hard to find in my country.

  • I made this tonight and it was AMAZING!! This is going to become a regular dish in our household!

  • @vledajaks I like it 'cause it's so versatile, too. Just made a batch for our July 4 picnic. No leftovers. Rita at AboutEating.

  • Looks really good!

  • its stupid to remove seeds from tomatoes, actualy this seeds gives nice flavour

  • I think it's awesome you are going to give this to kids! When kids learn to grow up eating veggies and recipes like this, they'll grow up thinking healthy food can be tasty and that' a gift that can have a lifetime of benefits.

  • I made this salad tonight, with a few modifications for lack of ingredients - left out the chili powder, used garlic salt, and white balsamic instead of red wine - it was delicious!

  • I made this and it was good for a day, then the olive oil turned like a glue and had to throw it out.If there was a way to dump the olive oil( I love olive oil) in this recipe it would of been a whole lot better and lasted longer.Next time i might just make a fat free Italian dressing and use it instead.

  • @koolbossjock That's what happens when you refrigerate olive oil. :/

  • Ya i know,i thought maybe being deluted with Balsamic would stop that from happening.Maybe I just use my home made salad dressing.Man that salad looked like wax.lol

  • @koolbossjock

sorry I'm not a cook. I usually eat cereal and canned foods 3 meals a day (college diet)

    but if this helps any,

Maybe instead of pouring your olive oil dressing into the big bowl of salad, put it into a separate bottle as if or bowl and spoon it into the serving size of bean salad that you are ready to eat.

but like i said, I suck at cooking, so there may be something that I'm not factoring in that may make my idea obsolete.

    good luck

  • I just use italian dressing.

  • Dried Beans and olive oil would be best for our health. Less salt and omega fats.

  • mmmmm

  • This is one of my favorite recipes!

  • Kids that are raised on healthy food will eat this. If they are McD's regulars... probably not.

Obviously it is easy to chg the recipe - I don't like green bell pepper and use red instead. yum!

  • Jarthome, my whole family, including kids, love this recipe, bell peppers and all. I agree, it all depends upon what types of food you regularly offer your children.

  • @jarthome My 2 year old loves salads. I have been giving all the veg sticks like carrot, pepper, cucumber etc. to him as a snack.

  • i don't think I'll be eating all of that but it looks delicious! :)

  • thanks

  • amazing, i will def make this.
