That is what you must ask you're self does the Holy spirit make you feel guilty for hurting the Father! Do you FEAR HIM? do you fear his judgment? Do you fear being WRONG? Psalm 103 vs 11 So GREAT is his steadfast love TOWARD THOSE WHO FEAR HIM as far as the EAST is from the WEST So far does he REMOVE OUR TRANSGRESSION'S as a FATHER pitty's his CHILDREN Yahweh pites those WHO FEAR HIM for he KNOWS our frame he rememberS that we are DUST!...DO YOU FEAR THE FATHER OF CREATION'S WRATH? MATHEW 7:21
I don't under how people are claiming he saying Faith by works? He saying You cannot Say you are saved and not CHANGE you cannot keep doing you're will You're will is not Yahweh's will its the Flesh he saying to Give up on the Flesh and turn to Yahshua the Messiah to break the Flesh we sin every DAY! our thoughts oppress us Demon's opress us we must keep our eyes on the father in heaven to stay clean of sin if we take our eyes away we fall Christians still sin but do they care? do they repent?
@disciplesofthecross Salvation is not of works you're right. But It is also stated many times that you should not continue in sin. When you say Salvation is not by Works it means that you can't do any good deeds to make yourself worthy but the Bible says in James 2:20 "Faith without Works is dead" You can't just say "I believe" and continue to KNOWINGLY sin. When you truly believe your life reflects it because you understand the greatness of his sacrifice. True Faith produces good fruit.
@YamiKazeSora Many people who were TRULY born again are living in a backslidden state right now, but they are still saved, and the still have eternal life. We don't maintain our salvation by continous good works. God maintains our salvation for us after we commit our souls to Him through Christ. You cannot possibly maintain your own salvation.
@disciplesofthecross I'm not saying that we maintain it. I'm talking about people who proclaim Christ but don't even attempt to get to know him or just lean on their confession and continue to sin and stay there. There are backsliders and there are those who have never knew God but claim to be his children. Continuous good works will not get you to salvation, you're right. But neither will ignoring the things God said to do/not do. I know many 'saved' who cared nothing about the things of God.
@YamiKazeSora "Every man shall be rewarded according to his own labour. My point was, Paul Washer teaches a works based salvation which is not biblical.
@disciplesofthecross I heard many of his sermons. He does not though I can see why you might think that. He teaches "dead faith" versus "living faith". Dead faith is saying you believe and your life is not being changed by God.
Good works is the fruit of belief not something you have to do yourself.
We SHOULD live a Godly life after being saved but some Christians BACKSLIDE and don't live Godly lives, but they are still saved. Paul Washer teaches that if you don't live a Godly life after you are saved, then you may not be saved at all, but the world is FULL of backsliders in bars...who are still saved. "For by grace are ye saved through faith, NOT of works"
Narrow gate, narrow path.... this is what most people tend to forget or deflect, sorry.
See yourself walking the worldly path... (See what Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-24) DO NOT believe what modern day evangelists are telling you handing our tracts on the street. Ask God to tell you how you can get your salvation.
@parkhsa The narrow path is Christ, the only way to salvation, not works or obedience to the law. I have been saved for 33 years, I think I got it down.
I am afraid that you need to understand the scripture and Paul's teaching better. Paul has been saying that we need to follow the path of Jesus Christ, not with your lips but with your own cross. Do you see the differerence between 'works' and 'carrying your own cross'?
God gave you a free will so that you can believe whatever you wish to believe. We will see if Mr. Washer's gospel is false or true when we stand in front of the White Throne. Be saved!
