The idea that we "go to heaven" comes from the idea that Jesus ascension was physical. But even more than that, it shows that modern man still reads the bible as a modern man, not as an ancient Hebrew. Jesus does not say heaven is here or there, he says it is within. Within referes to the Hebrew believe that God dwelled in the hearts of the people. How out of touch we have become.

Hebrews were people who believed in such a high morality, to the point whereby they believed "outsiders" had the ability to taint their morality. This was what Jesus struggled to teach his own people, that morality was not determined by what religion or culture one was. Note Jesus use of the Samaritan in his parable?

Physically or spiritually? A physical ascension is not mentioned, but one would assume that a physical resurrection would conclude with a physical ascension. Further more, I would say that there was no set time for creation in the Genesis account. We see the word "day" and think day. But the Hebrew here is the word "Yom" which is an undisclosed amount of time. Yom could have been used for a day, but its use in the Old Testament has been used to show a period of time. Several days or years even.
why don't you apologize some more for your silly book? I have argued the Yom defense before. serverl days or years does not add up to the 6 billion years we know the earth has. science makes a theory from the observed facts. faith makes facts up from the chosen faith.

But even more than that, it shows that modern man still reads the bible as a modern man, not as an ancient Hebrew. Jesus does not say heaven is here or there, he says it is within. Hebrews were people who believed in such a high morality, to the point whereby they believed "outsiders" had the ability to taint their morality. Physically or spiritually? A physical ascension is not mentioned, but one would assume that a physical resurrection would conclude with a physical ascension. About 40 different human authors contributed to the Bible, which was written over a period of about 1500 years. The authors were kings, fishermen, priests, government officials, farmers, shepherds, and doctors. From all this diversity comes an incredible unity, with common themes woven throughout all 66 individual books. Not to mention they were originally written in different languages on different continents. Id say the Word of God is the truth.( read John 1:1 )

The 40 author idea was first foated by the fundamentalist movement at the turn of the 20th century. Chuck Misler is the most renowned stickler to the 40 author princple, but I can assure you 40 authors is a myth. For starters, all of the Old Testament is oral history, and was not written until after the year 50AD

Why would a god who flung the stars into existence and give life to a pile a mud and called him man, go through such a rigorous way of pleasing himself? Natural is natural, if it were all true, your god would have made himself and his story known naturally as though it were just another law, like gravity. The idea that God has to sacrifice himself to himself in order to be able to lift people into heaven is a odd idea.
He could lift the sum total of all souls into heaven anytime he feels like it. And he could have done so at anytime up utnil now, from long before Jesus was born to long after he died.
There is nothing that could affect the ability of an omnipotent being to raise up any and all persons at will. We wouldnt have to put on some "cloak".

Further more, I would say that there was no set time for creation in the Genesis account. We see the word "day" and think day. But the Hebrew here is the word "Yom" which is an undisclosed amount of time. Yom could have been used for a day, but its use in the Old Testament has been used to show a period of time. Several days or years even.
