Hi Kai. I don't cook much, but I have really enjoyed watching your videos. Thank you for your work! I have prepared this recipe twice, once using fish and once using pork. The fish version was very successful. I would like to add some vegetables to make this more of a meal. What vegetables do you think might be best to try?
Thank's Im Doing This For New Year's My Son Call's It His Fav Soup He say's If he's In A desserted Island He Wolud Live Off eating This soup . And He's Mexican I thought He would say like Hot Cheetos. When We buy Thai Food it's A Privalge to Us And we Alway's Order the Soup So We pay like $11.00
I am vegetarian. I love Kai's recipes, a lot of them you can just substitute vegetarian ingredients for the animal products. But I am wondering if anyone knows what you could use instead of the fish sauce?
it's called TOM KHA GAI = Tom = boil, Kha=galangal, Gai (Kai)=chicken

I'm new to Thai cooking and was wondering if you eat the Kaffir lime leaves or do they just add aroma? How about the lemongrass and the galangal?
justgonnastay 2 years ago
kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass, and galangal only add aroma/flavor to the soup. you don't eat them.

Fish sauce just makes it salty. You can use salt instead.
haynakaw999 3 years ago
Basicaly fish sauce is like sea water but with a funky smell.

DominickBlack 3 years ago 2
The internet is where I get mine, then I put them in a couple freezer bags and freeze them, works great.
They have a wonderful aroma.
