  • I'm sorry, what is this Arkham Asylum and Arkham City you're talkin' about?

  • glad to see that there are still people who play the games instead of tas them

  • for an nes game the music sounds so heroic

  • One of my favourite games ever!

  • The music and game fucking owns. Could just listen to the soundtrack all day and never getting tired of it.

  • gotta love how this game made you feel like you were playing the movie......

  • @gluband Yeah, it's awesome!

  • @StateCollapse that was sarcasm, StateCollapse. This game didn't resemble the movie in any way shape or form that it was based on.

  • We used to have this game, but then we got rid of the NES to make room for the Gamecube. >:(

  • 2nd level music sounds like teen titans intro

  • best oldscool game!!!!!

  • best Batman game period

  • @TheMutator You obviously have never played Batman Arkham Aslym

  • @juanitoperez34 yeah i have it, and i stick with the nes version

  • @TheMutator good for you

  • dam brings back memories! i could never beat this game!!!! but i still love the music in it. thank u 4 uploading this

  • anyone know where i can download this soundtrack?

  • wow, when did firefly hang out with the joker?

  • Anyone else thought their NES froze the game when the title music would play that one long note?

  • @Goosterooo hahahhahaha wordd!! i always thought the same thing.....

  • I love stage twos happy feel...

  • You can't beat the classics! MW2 doesn't touch this. Classic music!

  • I'M BATMAN! ^-._.-^

  • The drums in this game are the same as Blades of Steel

  • I just got this game today. fucking hell is it hard! But that also has to do with the controls. they are tough to get used too.

  • I beat this in 16 minutes.....

  • yes really sounds like megaman

  • nanananananana batman!

  • I don't think I ever got through 5:11 without banging that stupid beam.

  • Jack Napier a.k.a The Joker!

  • So freaking hard...XD

  • does this game seem like megaman to anybody else?

  • @whisperdairy

It could be qualified as a Megaman clone, but both of those games are classified under the platformer genre.

  • second game i ever played after super mario bros.

  • @kurupt0007 hell yeah me too. I got an NES for chraistmas in 92 and it was Mario/Duckhunt and then Batman. Good times!

  • epic game

  • they should make a game based off that brave and bold episode with owl man..

  • @acrislazoiu man that cartoon series is right up there, with batman and superman adventures!! every episode is fuckin badass.

  • the jumping fropf things at 6:51 scared me as a kid

  • Very good job, Im working on a No hit run. I can get past the first 2 levels with not hits but thats bout it. I could probably do it with save states, But i wanna do it on the cartrige.

  • Definitely couldn't do a deathless run, but I could beat it at least - and then I wanna beat it again right afterwards. Great game - lots of fun.

  • On the emulator I jump like half the height as on this

  • OMG I used to play this all the time as a kid.

  • Holy crap I remember playing this game. Don't remember jack shit about it though!

  • Deathless?!? I just saw 2 ppl die right at the beggining of this vid LOL

  • LMAO!

  • Good point! :)

  • he means he doesn't die... duh

  • The first level had the sickest track to a video game, I think.

  • dude fuck yea im playing it right now

  • Some games from the past is as fun to play as they where back then, lets say "immortal". This and TMNT 1 is what i think is just that. My 2 favourite games of all times, challenging as hell, addicting and fun even when im a hundred years old, still gonna love it as much as i do now

  • I had this game when I was a kid and really loved the challenge. I got to Level 4-4. The game also had some great music.

  • greatest made man

  • I love it this game was simply amazing..

  • this game was fucking fun man!

  • they made games sooo hard back in the day, look at the original tmnt video game, i bet some of the creators of the game couldn't beat that game, i didn't even think there was a last level, nobody ever saw it!!!!!

  • Basicly, knowing the best route and collecting 99 scrolls(on 3rd level)with every turtle you could beat it in couple of days easy.

  • i have this game, i think games are alot more when they were for the nes super nes gensis.games today seem alot easier. ninja gaiden for nes was a bitch

  • i think ninja gaiden is still a bitch

  • Very hard game, I could only make it to the end of level 3. I hated those damn frog things. But I did love the movie clips at the beginning to set it up, cool thought

  • IMO, the only bad thing to say about this game is that it had little to do with the movie. Otherwise, it was very well presented. Great music, solid gameplay, and graphics that even stand up to some 16-bit games. It also packs more competant challenge into its design than some games 3x its length.

Personally, I feel movie games were overall better in the 2D days. Game design was typically more important than realism, and production teams seemed to be on more even footing with the consoles.

  • 6:39 farthest place i ever managed to get trough!

  • Well, I am pretty sure that you can finish this game, 008doomguy. It all comes down to motivation/determination.

  • The music in this game was awesome...and its one of the few games on the NES that had sampled sounds used in the music. Notice that the drums are basically REALLY low quality sampled drum sounds.

  • Really...I never knew that! Thanks for sharing :) Now that I listen to it closely, it does sound like what you describe. I wonder why more developers did not do more with this kind of feature? Many games would have benefited greatly. Perhaps it was a resource issue.

  • Yeah, it takes more memory to hold samples of sounds, even if its just short samples like drums, and even if they are downsampled by a lot. I presume the samples in Batman are at some really low sample rate like less than 11.025khz but I am just guessing.

  • What you said does make sense, so I'm with you on the frequency being around 11Khz.

  • I totally agree about the music being awesome.. I still remembered every song that was in this game.. And it's been a LONG time since i've heard em :)

  • @paulhindt yeah exactly, i think ducktales had that kind of sound too!

  • this is in my top favorite games of aaaaaallll time! I love it!! good playing!

  • Really great. I look forward to part 2, I've always wanted to see the end of this game.

  • Love this game thanks.

  • No probs, and I love this game too! I still play it occasionally ^_^

  • This was one of my favorite Games when I was a kid, I never beat it though because our NES always froze, now the thing just won't work, witch is sad. But anyway, awsome job on not Dieing and the vid.

  • I'm glad that you enjoyed the video, duckxxtape! Hopefully you'll figure out a way of getting your NES to work properly, so that you'll be able to finish Batman if you want.

I have had my fair share of problems with the system as well, but the key is to come up with new ways of getting the games to work. It sure takes a lot of trial and error lol.

  • they really captured the spirit of the movie in this game, huh? i know my favorite scene was always the one where Batman jabbed guys with flamethrowers and walked in only two dimensions. classic Burton!

  • Yeah the game isn't entirely related to the movie, lastunusedname. I would say that the Sega Genesis version stays truer to the film. I would say that the NES version is still the better game though.
