Very good job, Im working on a No hit run. I can get past the first 2 levels with not hits but thats bout it. I could probably do it with save states, But i wanna do it on the cartrige.
Some games from the past is as fun to play as they where back then, lets say "immortal". This and TMNT 1 is what i think is just that. My 2 favourite games of all times, challenging as hell, addicting and fun even when im a hundred years old, still gonna love it as much as i do now
they made games sooo hard back in the day, look at the original tmnt video game, i bet some of the creators of the game couldn't beat that game, i didn't even think there was a last level, nobody ever saw it!!!!!
i have this game, i think games are alot more when they were for the nes super nes gensis.games today seem alot easier. ninja gaiden for nes was a bitch
Very hard game, I could only make it to the end of level 3. I hated those damn frog things. But I did love the movie clips at the beginning to set it up, cool thought
IMO, the only bad thing to say about this game is that it had little to do with the movie. Otherwise, it was very well presented. Great music, solid gameplay, and graphics that even stand up to some 16-bit games. It also packs more competant challenge into its design than some games 3x its length.
Personally, I feel movie games were overall better in the 2D days. Game design was typically more important than realism, and production teams seemed to be on more even footing with the consoles.
The music in this game was awesome...and its one of the few games on the NES that had sampled sounds used in the music. Notice that the drums are basically REALLY low quality sampled drum sounds.
Really...I never knew that! Thanks for sharing :) Now that I listen to it closely, it does sound like what you describe. I wonder why more developers did not do more with this kind of feature? Many games would have benefited greatly. Perhaps it was a resource issue.
Yeah, it takes more memory to hold samples of sounds, even if its just short samples like drums, and even if they are downsampled by a lot. I presume the samples in Batman are at some really low sample rate like less than 11.025khz but I am just guessing.
I totally agree about the music being awesome.. I still remembered every song that was in this game.. And it's been a LONG time since i've heard em :)
This was one of my favorite Games when I was a kid, I never beat it though because our NES always froze, now the thing just won't work, witch is sad. But anyway, awsome job on not Dieing and the vid.
I'm glad that you enjoyed the video, duckxxtape! Hopefully you'll figure out a way of getting your NES to work properly, so that you'll be able to finish Batman if you want.
I have had my fair share of problems with the system as well, but the key is to come up with new ways of getting the games to work. It sure takes a lot of trial and error lol.
they really captured the spirit of the movie in this game, huh? i know my favorite scene was always the one where Batman jabbed guys with flamethrowers and walked in only two dimensions. classic Burton!
Yeah the game isn't entirely related to the movie, lastunusedname. I would say that the Sega Genesis version stays truer to the film. I would say that the NES version is still the better game though.
I'm sorry, what is this Arkham Asylum and Arkham City you're talkin' about?

@StateCollapse that was sarcasm, StateCollapse. This game didn't resemble the movie in any way shape or form that it was based on.

We used to have this game, but then we got rid of the NES to make room for the Gamecube. >:(

It could be qualified as a Megaman clone, but both of those games are classified under the platformer genre.
