  • some great inforamtion here thanks

  • this makes me think about Warhammer 40k!

I keep expecting Dr. Grant to start screaming "We kaptord it phor KHAaaaaOoozzz!" when he takes over the ship.

  • Sam Neill is doing this with Alcatraz Television show....only thing missing is the ships and Light Flat.......

  • the only good part was the last 8 sec of this

  • AFTER WATCHING THIS THEY NEED TO MAKE A DEAD SPACE MOVIE :)

  • I loved this movie, mainly cause I love to MST3K "B movies" (like this) and the dialogue kept matching our snark of what a REAL person says! Both "This ship is F*ED!" and captain saying after the video: "We are getting the F out of here!" instead of the usual stupid anti-realism "No, everyone's dead but let's all wander down the giant meat grinder hallway and leave our guns behind, lah dee dah." I LOVE this movie! Pulls no punches, lets people be real and gives the hard choices of real life.

  • Event Horizon and Sunshine is my two favorite space movies.. Watch them!

  • This is my favorite space movie ever.

  • I have this movie on VHS somewhere and I can't find it!!! So pissed.

  • Dr. Weir: Where we're going, we won't need eyes to see.

So... does this mean I can still bring a BFG9k, a rocket launcher, a minigun, and my iPod? Sweet.

  • that black dude who spent most of the time fixing the ship from the outside didn't have to go through any terrorizing

  • "Where we're going, you don't need eyes to see!"

  • The Union Aerospace Corporation is the largest corporate entity in existence. Originally focused on weapon and defense contracts, new ventures have expanded into biological research, space exploration, and other scientific endeavors. With unlimited funds, and the ability to engage in research outside of moral and legal obligations, the UAC controls the most advanced technology ever conceived.

  • @drwwd in most of space it is dark. in some places there is a huge ball of super bright light.

  • what happened to the lady why did she fall? would someone please tell me im too scared to watch the movie lol..

  • @Colemanian91 Hell showed her a vision of her son running around the ship. Her son was back on Earth and very sick, unable to walk at all and near death. Her 'vision' son ran across a deep and dangerous opening in the ship above the 'core' room. The woman was amazed to see her healthy son and ran to him, but didn't see the opening and fell down the hole, getting torn to pieces. You see the son gazing down upon the mother as she dies.

  • this movie is ridiculously scary...that ship looks evil, who the fuck designs a ship with large spikes sticking out of the walls?

  • @dalecampbl6 lol yea and with a meat grinder bridge lol

  • so the door closes at the end, what does that mean?

  • @nuocmat It means whatever was on the ship is now with more people.

  • @nuocmat it means it's not over.

  • Event Horizon wasn't that great a movie but I did really like how the "antagonist" is something completely and utterly impossible for the human mind to comprehend instead of just some psychopath or beastie out for blood.

  • What is the music in this clip ?!! , i love it alot .

  • Yes, by all means go and explore the spike filled room with a spiked ball in the middle. Perfectly safe.

  • I like to think Weir becomes a Cenobite....

but wtf is Pinhead in this movie???!!!!!!!! LOL

  • @technologic21 Where the Cenobites from Hell or simply another dimension? I can't remember.

  • @Tails137

Another dimension. But very close to Hell.

  • @technologic21 A Hell that was full of really pale people who had British accents.

  • then you dont think its possible that a magnetic gyroscope could be positioned at a relative convergence point in our solarsystem in order to "square" or "cube" our existing reality ? Or that occult manifestation can be plotted at an "angle to" causally harmonic events, and as such "ventilate" unknown energy on "more complete" dimensions than our own.

contained within which is fear of negative pattern.. ergo.. they were philosophicly incompetant to see its real beauty!

  • bottom line this is from a time where they were only like 10 major directors and they all followed the same script/storyline formula. THANK GOD editors have more control these days... shitstorm of ridiculousness that was...

  • its like hellraiser, and your confusing a good idea with a good movie. there are like 300 movies like this with almost exactly the same story line... Its been done before... all has... and not one of them ends cool. Its always some great fucking movie that turns into Aliens part 3 halfway in...

  • excellent movie, - scared the shit outta me as a kid.

  • @lordmasterkpis no, i'm saying that just that excerpt is evil as fuck, just like the film was.

  • whats the song

  • i remember first seeing this movie on tv when i was like 5 or 6 years old. it scared the hell out of me!

  • Good Job, Bigandlost!! This Video is well made.

  • 23 people never been to the other side

  • scary

  • Your video is cool. I would have added, too (my humble personal opinion) the scene where Sam Neill awakes alone from hibernation and gets out from the liquid absorption chamber. It is terrific :-) Thank you for this video!

  • liberate tutame ex inferis

  • Im not sure, but what spooks me about this score is in certain parts of the actual movie's intro music (possibly other places too) you can hear a childrens choir in reverse....UGH! Just thinking about it creeps me the F out.

  • Right back at ya... Taylor.

Ding ding the witch is dead!

The witchg is dead? Which witch is dead?

  • People say this rips off The Shining, Alien and Hellraiser. It's absolute shit compared to alien. It's actually better than the shining(this causes much morepsychological impact) and is also better than Hellraiser(Hellraiser is ramdom and doesn't make any sense). So yeah, this movie is actually decent.

  • Why in death's name did that guy stuck his hand into the portal? Did he think it would be funny that his hand would be on the other side of the universe? :0

  • @Fpz4488 He wasn't laughing after that...lol

  • @Swordsman808

Maybe it was funny on the other side, but he freaked out because going back sucked compared to the fun he had. Or did I just miss the entire point of the film? :D

  • @Fpz4488 Uh...no. The guy tried to commit suicide in an horrific and excruciating way because supposedly it was that much better than whatever it was that was awaiting the rest of the crew in the Other Place ("I won't go back there...if you've seen what I've seen, you wouldn't try to stop me..."). When asked what he saw he only manages to vaguely and ominously whimper "things...horrible horrible things"...maybe whatever he saw was really bad comedy?

  • @Swordsman808

Haha I know, bad comedies are the worst. I'd run into an airlock too if I could when I saw one.

  • I love the art style in this film, first time i watched it i honestly thought it was made in the 80's, i mean awsome quality but it had that rustic old look to it that made all those films like alien so atmospheric, beeeautiful :D

    Ps. Love this film xD

    Long live Orbital!

  • "You know nothing. Hell is only a word; the reality is much, much worse."

That about sums up the movie right there.

  • Woo... Just watched that by myself in a dark room. been awhile since i saw that movie. My cat jumped up in my lap and I almost threw her into a wall.

  • Woo... Just watched that by myself in a dark room. been awhile since i saw that movie.

  • great flick and the score you've put up is class well done !

  • Anyone know where I can find the Event Horizon scene on youtube of sam neil explaining the distance between two points scene?

  • can i please know the music ? it is really nicely syncro , the explosion and the music re-building up so good 10 stars , thank you for posting

  • I would hate to be on that ship when it jumps! Although that is a pretty impressive Model ship they came up with! I like ships with alot of Width and not a major amount of Height and a good amount of Breadth like this ship it has no major amount of Height to it pretty much has like 4-5 decks!

  • Is it me or did they buy up an entire factory of fake blood when they made this film?

  • whats the music?

  • The director (Anderson ) showed much promise with this .....but it all turned to shit after ! ....shame

  • this whole film really gives me the creeps..

  • lol... Did you see the woman perfoming a prostate exam to a man at 9:32?

  • @Aera1982 yeah waht the fuck was that if not a prostate exam? is it gay rape by a long-haired perpetrator?

  • @Aera1982 LMAO yeah, for a split second yeah.

  • Dont remake this movie...the first one was just fine.

  • sorryyy bur i want a answer

  • hey i think the soundtrack of event horizon is very great..can you upload the rest of it???????????

  • Not showing what the chaos dimension looks like/is like was an important part of engaging people's imaginations. The most disturbing films often leave the most horrible parts up to the imagination. That way, it's more personal to each of us because we get to envision what the most horrible place for us would be individually. High-tech special effects, while entertaining eye candy, leave little to the imagination.

  • @arcanist9 they ruin everything

  • I still wonder why the Event Horizon had such a gothic look to it...

  • @kharjik09 because it was 1997?

  • @kharjik09

If you had seen the making of the movie, they explain that the design of the Event was based off gothic cathedrals. The ship itself, when looking at it from the top, resembles a cross.

  • I cant believe that they brought out a collector's box edition with a painted artwork case roughly ten years after the film's realease... It's quite remarkable considering it was viewed as a dud.

  • @TCFan25

Yes they did. I have it.

Regardless of whether the film bombed or not, it still has a strong cult following, and I'm glad they released the 2 disc special edition.

  • BOOOORING

  • scary film. had to leave the flat one night after watching it and stay with my brother

  • @irishjanet wuss

  • The crawlspace scene were the lights go out then on again with his wife there was the best ever.

  • who had the idea for 6.58??????SICK!!!!!!!!

  • I saw this film in the cinema and it scared the crap out of me, everytime I heard the prodigy's funky shit on the radio, I would leap out of my skin. Top quality film.

  • They should remake this movie with a bigger budget and a longer crew vid clip and have some of it take place in that chaos realm. Imagine how crazy that would be??? I wouldnt be able to watch it lol

  • @clark85 No. Hell no.

  • @clark85 Hell yeah! :D

  • @clark85

I agree with the other people that said no. They shouldn't remake this movie. There's absolutely no need for it. If anything, I would rather see a sequel than a remake, even though we don't need a sequel either.

The movie was actually a lot longer, with more disturbing scenes, but the studio forced Anderson to cut about 30 minutes of the movie.

I'd rather see movies similar to Event Horizon. No Remake though.

  • art is a gift with science math addvice the human con flaw with some places

an some shows older then the flim sciences used to make the place newer yet medical sciences an public grantings to show oh well is just one moive , is it

  • 9:05 and the Dominix is born!

  • I haven't watched the whole movie yet, but is the music here actually the movie's soundtrack? It's pretty awesome!

  • I don't get it why it tanked in cinemas. It was one of the best sci-fi horrors of the 90's.

  • @23WhiteFlag Probably alot of people walked out because of the violence... and I bet those people thought that this was just going to be like another jazzed up Star Trek film with a bit of gore and thrills.

  • the most evil sounding track

  • this video is perfect if only you had included the opening paramount logo getting darkened that would have been awesome

  • Boldly go where no man has gone before...

  • Lightning in outer space? hmmm.....

  • @Foouhomeyg And you feel like that is the most unreal thing about this movie..omfg o.O

  • @D3ffe naw just thought that was interesting lol. The movie did scare the hell out of me though.

  • @Foouhomeyg Its on the surface of Neptune...which if you went to school you would know, has the most powerful lighting storms in our galaxy.

  • @Breakneckhydra1 ive been to neptune i can tell you he is telling the truth

  • @cranfield1 Look it up on Google, we've sent an unmanned space-craft there that we crashed into the surface just to get images & statistics of the atmosphere, it sent the info as it went through the storms, plus theres lots of pictures on the internet.

  • @Breakneckhydra1 Oh it was on Neptune? I completely forgot. I haven't seen this since I was 11. And yes I did go to school. Thank you very much for asking. So thoughtful of you to be concerned :)

  • @Breakneckhydra1 You mean our solar system, not our galaxy.

  • where does this soundtrack come from? did you edit the original soundtrack? i love this

  • Anderson's only worthy film. You almost think it's directed by someone else. Glad to see it still has quite the cult following. I remember watching it in theater as a kid, and the loud sound coupled with the jump scares of disturbing imagery made me move back several rows. This is definitely a film that needs to be seen on a huge screen with a quality sound system. The sound fx are stellar.

  • @Chronolyse nice pun at then end. did you do that on purpose?

  • @Chronolyse Agree with you about what a forgettable hack Anderson was. EH was a masterpiece that deserves to be remade.

Would almost certainly be ruined further if it ever was remade, however. Hollywood is an anti-creative PC vacuum now, so all we can do is appreciate it for the excellence it was.

  • @Chronolyse I agree. This is the only film Anderson has made that i consider to be a masterpiece. I'm so glad this movie is finally getting the attention and respect it truly deserves.

  • @TheAltair4

I saw it in theaters when i was 16 and it was a very dark Sci-fi horror cult fave. Sort of like The Keep in space with Lovecraft themes to it.

  • Oh and nice XIII on the side of that ship.

  • 1:11-2:06

  • I loved the intro music to this film Orbital did wonders with the soundtrack.

  • Lol'd SO hard at 5:40

  • I wish they would have showed the chaos realm.

  • @comotose762 It would go beyond R rating I think... the board of Classification and Film ratings would have to come up with 'X' Explicit Violence rating

  • WTF with the end? can someone explain?

  • lol is it just me? or does dids movie me remind me of house on haunted hill?

  • this movie scared me shitless the first time i watched it. so much that i had to stop halfway through at the part at 5:20 and finish it the next day. i did not sleep on either night

  • @toxicapathy

Yeah, i got that sort of. It was on TV once and i started watching it thinking "hey, its got sam neil in it. itll probably be like jurasic park"...wrong. i watched the entire thing alone at night... i was only 13 and back then i was the biggest wuss when it came to gory movies.

  • This movie has it's duff moments, partly due to Anderson's relative inexperience as a director, mainly due to Paramount insisting on cuts and re edits, but I have rarely seen a film with such an atmosphere of MENACE from beginning to end. And the design of the ship is awesome.

  • I loved that movie! Is there more movies like this, i mean movies based on the similar thing?

  • @juicedracer777 Pandorum

  • @jimijable i know, and ive seen it. its not that good as the event horizon :P

  • @juicedracer777 Yes indeed mate :)

  • @juicedracer777

The only other movie I've seen that is like Even Horizon, is Pandorum. It was a more recent movie. Came out in 2009. It has a similar premise with a completely different story. It's probably the closest you can get.

  • @SlasherIncorporated Yea, except Pandorum was terrible.

  • Man, wish I could get a clip of 'baby bear' going out the airlock. That was a cool scene.

  • 2012v :P

  • This was a pretty sweet movie..cool concept / idea. Good actors and special effects, I completely agree...its a very underrated movie.

  • Anderson claims that his initial cut of the film, before the visual effects had been completed, ran to about 130 minutes in length. The film was even more graphic in this incarnation, and both test audiences and the studio were unnerved by the gore. Paramount ordered Anderson to cut the film by thirty minutes and delete some of the violence, a decision that he regrets. The studio had little interest in keeping unused footage and the film has since been lost.

  • "Event Horizon" = "The Black Hole" + "Alien" - "StarWars"

  • Liberate tute me ex Infernis...

  • The captains log scared the shit out of me.

  • @MrWiiPS360 No shit. That was one of the scariest scenes in any movie.

  • @MrWiiPS360 liberate tute me....

  • @MrWiiPS360 yeah that was some sick shit xd

  • @MrWiiPS360 i Agree

  • The creative blend of old fashioned gothic horror and sci-fi made this a very unique movie. It scared the pants of me the first time I saw it lol!!!

  • That was amazing.

  • I recently made my own Event Horizon fan video, but couldn't figure out how to post a video response... been a while since I uploaded anything to youtube, and they've changed a lot... hope no one minds that I attached it to this comment.. anyway, I LOVE this video! This movie scares the crap out of me... in order to make my video I had to watch it a whole bunch and desensitize myself. Excellent acting and amazing story line though... Good cast too!

  • 0:45 to 3:20 is such an awesome tune

  • Comment removed

  • This movie is a commentary on where technology will eventually lead us. The image of the cross runs throughout, everyone suffers from guilt, and the ships captain "redeems" himself at the end by saving his crewmember. The best part was when the last transmission from the former crew was deciphered. "Save yourself".

  • I remember this movie... scared the living shit out of me when I was a wee-lad.

...not quite as much as "IT" though, still terrified of clowns.

  • I sense this is a cult classic?

  • i watched that when i was like 10 years old, and it really scared the fuck out of me...

  • idk bout what it represents as opposed to but im pretty sure this song is supposed to make you feel that u gotta(m) make life good while it lasts, and live up to some great cause

idk man i just dont know :(

  • Why not another movie that depicts what was going on during the seven years that the ship disappeared? Call it "Event Horizon: Seven Years In Hell".

  • @rexcat Technically the closer you are to a black hole the slower time seems to go... so it may have only been seconds that the ship was gone, but seven years on Earth... I'd be interested in a sequel though... either a look at the first crew, or a later investigation into what happened... either way, either movie could have the potential for some scary sh**... this movie has some awesome deleted scenes though that are pretty freaky!

  • @innerlightmarin I had to go get the DVD for myself. A sequel might have both a look at the first crew and an investigation from all the computer files from the ships bridge.

The ship could have also been gone for only hours or days. Enough time for whatever was in the other dimension to take full effect on the first crew.

  • man saw this when i was eight, freaked me the fuck out especially when that persons tongue exploded n that dudes eyes were gouged out

  • I havent seen this yet but sunshine seems very similar to it

  • @sycerica It is incredibly similar, but both are still decent movies. Event Horizon is better though, purely out of the fact it's so god damned atmospherically creepy xD

  • lol i remember when they watch the tape about their lost ship , and u hear the dead people yellin fuck sooo fucking scary

  • how many people typed this in because they heard about it on family guy?

  • @xxxxequilibriumxxxx Apparently not just you. And that's the scariest thing I have seen here yet

  • God I have not seen this film is like forever, This makes me wanna go download and watch it, but i'm too lazy. lol

Man could you Imagen if this was real and you was one of that salvage team crew... man I would be shitting myself.

  • Comment removed

  • the terror begins at 5 20 for shizzle

  • There's something disturbing about this video. And I'm not talking about the last 10 seconds. The techno music randomly kicking in and out, mixed with the movie score is unnerving for some reason. And watching the horrific events in mute is very creepy to me. This movie scares the shit out of me.

  • @fermie125 There is a reason why you feel this way about this movie...

  • I thought this was one of if not the greatest horror films ever made. High ranking cast, great story, chilling effects for the time and even now its a tad bit creepy for some lol. Its an all around great movie just not for the faint of heart XD.

  • if this would be possible, they would probably be selling tickets on "hell trip"...i wonder if some moron would buy it :P

  • 2015 colony on moon? naa.. maybe 2020

  • Yeah, tell us, mate, what are the music pieces you've used. C'mon. Share it with us.

  • Probably the scariest film I have ever seen. I've never been spooked by a film before but after watching it last night I couldn't sleep an I'm 18.. Talk about pathetic :P

Also, this movie made me change my organ donor status - I took my eyes off the list, it freaks me out now!!

  • movie gave me chills 10 of 10

  • I give the movie 7/10 for its fantastic creativity and story.

  • The captain's log part of the film gave me nightmares back when I saw it, and I must've been at least 6 or 7. I watch it now and I'm all like "Haha, awesome".

  • one of the most fucked up non snuff films

  • What was the music used on this video?

  • it was written for the film. The Orb helped write it- buy the album- its awesome

  • There is no doubt in my mind that the Reivers from Firefly/Serenity were at least partly based on this. The music is a little similar too.

  • 5:26 haha love this part BOOM!

  • Reminds me of Dead Space too....great film!

  • This reminds me more of Doom than Dead Space

  • excellent movie....

  • In all honesty i have the dvd ... the movie isnt that good... it isnt that well directed.. acted or shot but... It has that certain athmosphere....... i like it a lot!
