I love the fact that GH sounds so much like Yes. Sure, there's something to be said for originality, but what's Yes doing right now? Goddamn Fly From Here. In other words, nothing. GH is picking up where they left off after Going For the One, and stretching the limits of 70s-style prog. I love Yes, but I've heard there material a zillion times. I need something new, but still good. GH fits the need perfectly.
Good job Brother. But you forgot to mention how influenced the Bass Player is by Chris Squire of YES.
I've been a YES fan since '72. Found GH a few years ago and it was actually a little while before I noticed just How Much they liked YES. Jon Anderson sang some on a recent CD of there.
You also forgot to mention that GH is a Christian band.
This review prompted me to buy this CD yesterday. Before then, I had only heard of Glass Hammer by name but hadn't heard any of their music. "If" is an excellent album and a great discovery. Thank you for this review and for introducing me to a great 'new' band.
@LouiePlaysDrums Glad you like the album. Despite the heavy Yes influence, I do enjoy the music of Glass Hammer :-) The Inconsolable Secret is also highly recommended.
And why had I never heard of them - and did they ever play in Switzerland?

"If" (2010) un grand album dans la lignée du grand Yes, avec un chant digne de l'homme à la voix de cristal ! Superbe !

Nice review. I got this album a few months ago, and it is definately a great addition to their long legacy of great music.
I also managed to find The Inconsolable Secret, which is extremely rare now that it is out of print. I love it!
