It's so good to see now and then something like this among all the countless lessons on youtube by "teachers" who lack fundamental techniques themselves. Even labelled as beginners'lessons, they could do serious harm as habits are hard to correct. Like learning a language or musical instrument, proper lessons and good teachers are important. In fact it is more important at the beginning to bother with technique and learn properly if it is for looks and not just as a stepping exercise.

Thanks for uploading. My only reservation is about the title of "International Style Waltz". Only US and some countries have their non-standard and watered down form of the ballroom waltz, the US waltz. n the other 100+ countries and just about all those with higher ballroom dancing standards, people dance the Waltz, or Modern Waltz.. It is just like calling real, original English "International English"!! (Microsoft and US). This IS Waltz. English is English (not US English).

Yes as a student who is learning, it does help to count the steps as you do them. As you learn the steps you also learn proper body position and lead. Last would be the foot work for the proper timing of the rise and falls as well as heel and toe movements. That is the way I leaned when I was learning to do the many ballroom dances I do. And I still have lots to learn. I think the dancers did a good job.
