Do you know anything, and I mean ANYTHING at all about these snakes? Maybe educate yourself a little before you come spout some peta bs at me. You are talking about an animal that moves less in its natural life on a monthly basis then the size of the enclosure it is kept in.
You also fail to realize a very important fact. Owning and keeping these animals, being able to show and educate people about these animals, is the very essence of what needs to be done to make any sort of resounding change
This one was a baby, the horns at its age are hardly noticeable. West africans have more prominent horns from my experience, the thing that gives off W. vs E. gaboons are the lateral lines on the face. West africans have a single horizontal line, whereas East africans have a horizontal and vertical marking.
I would love to have a gaboon viper, I think they are amazing except I have no experience around snakes that are poisen so i will stick to watching everyone else on here
nice gaboon bad choice of caging it would be more stress on the snake to be moved around before and after it eats, no gaboons arent rear fanged and mambas are alot more dangerous then gaboons
Gaboon vipers are so amazing creatures, from 00.04 to 00.18 i could not see the snake until the strike made me jump, very stealthy and very well adapted animals, good clip ;)
No, Gabbys are not rear fanged, infact they have the longest fangs of any venomus snake. Most venomus snakes bite and hold the prey, only a few strike and let go. Yes, that is a young snake.
are Gaboons rear-fanged snakes? it would explain the way it holds on to the prey. most venomous snakes bite and release and let the venom do the work.
no only the deadliest snakes strike and let go because they wont have to track them after the bite and also keep themselves out of harms way, less poisoness have to hold on though
hellz no, a mamba couldnt touch a gabon viper, gaboons r huge and man\mbas r way skiny compared to them
also texas u say? i happen to live in texas as well, i hope i mite b able to geet sumthin like this 1 day. its good to know that bit of info and awesum vid
Dude, nice gabby. I owould be kinda freaked out by it not being in a vision cage or such though O.O Might wanna look into something non-fish tankish. GREAT music too, thats what we like here down south haha.
That is temporary housing. He is kept inside that cage inside his larger perment housing. The small inner cage is taken out for feeding. I use it to reduce stress on neo's, same with the leaf cover. Gets them eating quicker after importation.
Sad to see such a beautiful creature forced into a tedious life in a cage so some heartless person can be amused.
