OK its not that my spore icon doesnt work but when i start it up (windowed mode) it just stays blank with the spore cursor and when i enlargen it most of the screen pops up purple (still does nothing) do you know what to do to fix it? (yes i tried your method and it does the same thing)

mne says d3dx9 27.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem

when I try to load spore it just says configuration script failed (2000) and then it says could not find a needed package the data directory is missing or corrupt (1004) Please Help!!!

@spinosaurus1 some games dont run well with the graphics cards found in laptops, turn all the setting to low and make sure you have all the latest drivers. (and that you meet the minimum specs.)

@spinosaurus1 hmm in that case, try installing it on another pc. if it runs fine then it may be because of an incompatibility with something you recently installed or updated perhaps? if you are running windows 7 try running it in compatibility mode on xp or vista

Well. For most of you to understand read the description in this video. Plus you can't register this copy because the serial number is all ready been used. You download at your own risk. Just becareful what you download because you may get viruses.

@MrPonies101 that was a year ago but on April 20 2010 (to be exact) my computer broke because of a Halo virus i downloaded the day before all my friends were talking about this game called "Halo: Combat Evolved" i downloaded it from a website and the game had a virus attached long story short the Computer crashed left the game on viruses probably transfered into the computer when i left the game on i got a new computer graphics card sucks really slow can't play SPORE or any 3D games no more

I have bought spore and i installed successfully, but scince i downloaded this freaking asymetry patch it stopped working.Then i downloaded it from the pirate to utorrent, but when it stopped working i had instaled it 'several'( '' :means many) times from an another computer and copied it to mine, i had files of it everywere.Now i want to install it from the downloaded one, but i cant because it says that the version 4000smth is installed and i can't install the 1000smth. Mine usually takes a minute or two to start but if I double click the desktop icon a second time it hurries up a bit, this works for me with just about everything else, too :3

Right ive got sevral user accounts on my vista (not all mine) but anywayz on one, it comes up the same as shockball said on mine and the other 1 it just doesent load at all ive try the drive shortcut the sporeapp.exe and others but it still does not work and it was working fine before.

I talked to one of the spore people when this happened to my old computer, and the said it was because my computer did not have the right graphics card. Spore requires a specific kind and that error means you don't have it. The only way to fix it is to get a new graphics card. Sorry, I'm in the same boat.

That's what the problem I had was. Reinstall spore and install DirectX as well. It should fix it. (I know you might have figured it out after ONE YEAR. Just in case)

theres cd keys on youtube?!?!? wtf. if u type that in then its not gonna work coz of the DRM or w.e it is.

in the manual or on/in the case there shud be a CD key, with copyright on this game you can only install it 3 times then you need to buy a new cd key from EA to stop piracy, it needs to be valid aswell
