  • is this guy a retard????

  • My Acura doesn't sound like that, because I do not own an Acura...But my Civic sounds exactly like that..!!!

  • OK NUMNUTS DO YOU VIDEO DURING THE DAY!

SOMETHING that you are CRITICALLY WRONG ABOUT!

YOU DO NOT DESOLDER ALL OF THE JOINTS BEFORE YOU RESOLDER THEM!

In you case it worked, but this is not a good idea. Sometimes the components on the other side of the PCB fall into the relay housing. NOT FUN!

  • I think he meant FUEL PRESSURE not oil pressure, other than that he is 100% right. This is a very common problem w/ early honda motors

  • @chugmonki

I believe he is correct just from a logic standpoint. When starting your car you might have fuel pressure from the previous run. If your car sat for a month you would have none.

The fuel pump will not operate if the engine is not functioning (no oil pressure - except for a 2 second period during engine start). This is a well known fact that can be backed up with the car's electirical schematics. This is NOT an issue with GM's North Star Engine that can run without OIL briefly.

  • Are you shure its not just flooding making it hard to start. The sensor thinking the engine is cold when its really hot so it goes and mixes the fuel to rich and then its hard to start.

  • Its got nothing to do whit fuel pressure

  • Reminds me of Volvo 240 , 740 and 940 s that often have problems getting started in hot weather or when the engine is hot .

  • Yes, it's got nothing to do with oil pressure.

The Main Relay is a circuit point that gets voltage to its various gates through soldering points. Those points fracture with time and, for various physical reasons, will increase in electrical resistance as the temperature goes up. That's why the car doesn't start after a short trip or when the car's been sitting outside in the heat for a long time.

  • @170324341a ur right my bro had the same problem he would have to tap the relay ?and it would start the car right up it can b loose harness?

  • i have an 94 GSR with da same problem and i hope dis wrks ty for urr help

  • This information is WRONG! what if oil pressure switch is faulty that would make the vehicle not start not true. Try it yourself disconnect oil pressure switch and you will find out vehicle will start. Instead of you doing all this working and if you have doubts that it would work try to diagnosing it first. ALl you did was a repetition work and guessing. A way to test this is by cranking the vehicle while it wont start and have labscope or metter to the injectors and you will find voltage low

  • will it work on a 93 acura legend, if so what color does it need to be because my bf bought a red little box when i thought it was the black box. did he get the right one

  • @yagurl89: Not sure what kind of relay a 93 legend needs, but the part number should be easy to find by Googling. Different models use different relay types which aren't interchangeable, so make sure it's the right one.
